I was gifted this book through HACU, the Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities, as a leader in residence. We went through the book together, and I have nothing but positive comments about it! The book is easy to process, and it has valuable lessons that as a sophomore in college, have helped me exceed above and beyond–whether it be in my sorority or other organizations in campus, it has allowed me to see and indulge in things more professionally, and also think critically on what my next steps should be, along with follow ups or suggestions. It also made me grow as a person; in both confidence and maturity. I was given a book with all the skills necessary to succeed, and I can’t wait to keep implementing these beyond just my school! The career launch book was not just your average career book. I loved the fact that it says not to just go out and find a job because employers are hiring. But to really search within yourself to find your talents,interests,and values. That is what your career should be focused around. It's so true!! I've wasted so many years just working to get money while disregarding my INNATE ABILITIES, TALENTS, AND VALUES. While engaging in this book, I had the chance to actually sit down and prioritized my values around work. My career path has totally shifted from the medical field to the human service field. I finished this book at just the right time and I am working towards a career where I can integrate my education with my innate talents. I truly enjoyed every part of this book and encourage other people to utilize it.

As a business student, I went into this program thinking I could not have more to gain with what I've already learned in my studies. I was quickly proved wrong. I had not known about every resource LinkedIn had to offer when it comes to searching for internships and jobs. I was not marketing myself in the best way possible and was not confident in my interviewing skills. This all changed after participating in the CareerLaunch Program. The book allows you to stay organized when listing potential contacts and companies. They provide formats for emails you will be sending to recruiters and other incredibly helpful tips as well. I still have the book to this day as I am constantly referencing it while looking for summer internships and opportunities. This program is also not specifically targeting business students which I appreciate as someone who has other passions and interests within the industry. Anyone regardless of their major or desired career path can benefit tremendously from this program.

I used it alongside the Career Launch course and developed the abilities to network with professionals in my field (both in-person and online) and build my online profiles to better fit my career trajectory. This booklet was super user-friendly! The content was pretty up-to-date regarding how to network with industry professionals. The chapters were easier to follow and can be worked through in a variety of orders. I enjoyed having a physical book as opposed to keeping track of notes on my phone or computer, great way to switch things up. I highly recommend it to students or anyone who wants to develop their professional personas but doesn't know where to start!

I had to purchase this book for a course I was taking this quarter. I was a little skeptical, but following the guidelines and instructions in the book really helped! For example, from following the guidelines in the book for cold emailing and outreach, I actually received responses from numerous business professionals.
