This product is a valuable addition to my collection, especially since my vehicles are older models. It offers a more advanced level of technology compared to newer models. My latest vehicle is a 2012 model, and it has provided me with valuable insights into potential vehicle issues. In contrast, my cousin’s 2018 vehicle offers a wide range of customization options. However, most of these programs are designed for vehicles manufactured after 2016. I am unable to provide a comprehensive list of all the features, but it primarily identifies the source of problems. I am currently considering purchasing an older model launch specifically designed for older cars. I currently own four vehicles: two trucks, one SUV, and one car. None of these vehicles are newer than 2016. Although I am not a professional mechanic, I possess sufficient knowledge to diagnose and fix certain issues on my own. If I am unable to resolve a problem, I can accurately identify the underlying cause and estimate the cost of professional mechanic services to avoid being overcharged. Some mechanics may rely solely on years of experience to diagnose issues. For instance, if the water pump is faulty, the thermostat may become stuck, or the radiator may be clogged. In such cases, investing in expensive parts and labor may not solve the problem. Alternatively, an electrical mechanic may diagnose a faulty temperature sensor, which can be easily replaced at a cost of $45. This launch product provides valuable information on the location of potential problems, allowing me to identify specific sensors and perform self-diagnostics. I've been driving long-haul trucks for years, so I'm usually pretty skeptical about these all-in-one scanners. Most tools on Amazon that can actually handle heavy-duty 24V rigs cost around $1,800. So when I got this one for under $1,200, I was shocked that it actually does full HD truck diagnostics with no hidden BS. I drive a Freightliner Cascadia with a Detroit DD15, and already had my standard 9-pin heavy-duty adapter. I just plugged it into the Bluetooth Smartlink C donglethat comes with the tool, and it connected right away. Honestly, if you don't have the adapter, you can just buy one on Amazon for like 15 bucks, super easy. After I went into the built-in mall and bought the trucksoftware for my rig, everything worked like a charm. It runs so smooth! This launch scanner is way better than overpriced pieces of junk on the market right now. If you have just one truck or a small fleet, I'm telling you, this Launch X431 Pro3 V+ Elite is the absolute best tool for truck diagnostics. For this price, you just can't beat what launch X431 made here. If you're a real trucker, just buy it!

As a mechanic who works on everything from pickups to Class 8 rigs, I've been waiting for a scanner that doesn't nickel-and-dime you on heavy truck coverage. The LAUNCH X431 PRO3 V+ ELITE finally delivers. What sold me was the included heavy-duty module access - that's over $900 worth of software right out of the box. No more buying separate licenses just to talk to a transmission or engine ECU on a Freightliner or Peterbilt. I put it to the test on a 2022 International with a persistent fault code and poor drivability. The topology map was a lifesaver. Instead of chasing wires blindly, it showed me the entire network layout, color-coding the ECUs. I could see the relationship between the ABS module and the engine controller instantly. Using the bi-directional controls, I was able to command the injector solenoid test right from the scanner, confirming a sluggish response in seconds, not hours. The J2534 passthru worked flawlessly when I needed to run a proprietary calibration update, saving a trip to the dealer and a huge bill for the customer. The 10-inch Gorilla glass screen is tough and perfectly readable in the shop lights, and the battery lasts through a full day of diagnostics. Been a mechanic in my shop for 15 years. Grabbed Launch X431 PRO3 V+ Elite with the SmartLinkC and it’s solid. Bluetooth stays locked in strong. I walk around the car, out to the yard , even clear to the back of shop and the launch scanner never stops.No leg, no reconnecting. The SmartLinkC is a tough little box. Handles CANFD and DoIP right out of the gate, so those weird newer models come in and I’m on them quick with no extra adapters. Works great with the launch X431 pro3 features and the launch j2534 programming tool. Gets jobs done fast. Quick tip for anybody looking: the thing connects to the internet for diagnostics. Real all-in-1 unit. Covers pretty much every problem I run into, and if I‘m not sure , I just search online right on it. It even does trucks, and I’m still poking around the truck module to see everything it can do. Real happy with this one.

My old Honda SUV couldn't start last Friday. Random misfire codes everywhere. Shops quoting 180+ just to plug in. I decided to buy this Lauch X431 PRO3 V+ Elite for myself. Hooked it up, the topology map instantly showed #4 injector circuit dead. This is really easy and accurate to use. Bi-directional test: commanded the injector, silence. Swapped the pigtail connector in two minutes, misfire jumped cylinders. I only use $18 with this machine. It fired up and no longer throws parts at it. On the same day, I finally cleared the nagging service light, did a proper throttle relearn after cleaning and bled the ABS when the pedal went soft, all one-click with clear guides. 10.1 screen works well even in the sunlight. The rubber armor already survived a 4-foot drop, battery easily lasts a full day... The engine has never run smoother before. Paid for itself on the first repair. If you wrench on your own car, just buy it.

I’m not sure where to start, but the X431 PRO3 V+ Elite is an awesome scan tool for the price. I really like the build quality. Starting with the blow molded case in come in to the high quality foam used to protect the scan tool. I’m also a fan of the thick rubber casing used on the tablet which takes away any fear I have of damaging it if it gets dropped. I have tested this scan tool on my truck which is a 2024 GMC canyon with low exceptions of support as I have found in the past with other scan tools they lack which is comes to new model years, but I was very wrong when it comes to the PRO3 V+ Elite. I had no issues when it came to connecting to my truck with lots of options for bi-directional controls and service resets. I’m also a fan of the topography which can help in which diag. I also like the fact that this scan tool comes with a J-Box, especially for the price it is hard to find other scan tools that offer the scan functionality as the PRO3 V+ Elite. One thing that also took me by surprise was the fact that the VCI is in fact a touch screen with options of its own. The other major benefit I see when purchasing this scan tool is the ability to expand it as launch offers various add-ons such as an oscilloscope, sensor box, TPMS tool, and even ADAS calibration. To get these functions with other brands you will be looking at $4000+ at the minimum. I also like the EV support that this scan tool has to offer, with EV’s becoming a big part of the automotive industry its nice to know that this scan tool is somewhat future proofed and I have the ability to purchase additional hardware and software. I also like the fact that launch has added a feedback button so if you notice any issues such as poor translation or errors in guided functions you can report them and have it corrected for all the users. The only thing I wish was included with the scan tool is a screen protector, although this is not that big of an issue as they can be purchased online. Overall I am extremely happy with my purchase and all my exceptions have been exceeded. I would highly recommend this scan tool to any professional looking to get most value and versatility for your money, but also for the hobbyist looking for a powerful scan tool.

I bought the Launch X431 PRO3 V+ Elite for my shop and honestly didn’t expect it to be this good. It boots fast, the screen is super clear, and the SmartlinkC 2.0 connects to vehicles without any drama. The bi‑directional tests work great — I’ve used it on Ford, Chevy, Toyota, and Ram with no issues. Actuator tests, resets, relearns… all smooth. The J2534 feature is a huge bonus because now I can handle programming jobs in‑house instead of sending them out. Heavy‑duty support is legit too. I’ve already used it on a couple of diesel trucks and it pulled data quickly. If you run a shop or do mobile diagnostics, this thing is a workhorse. Definitely worth the money.
