This fan will do exactly what you want it to. I've had it for over a month, and am pleased with the performance. Not too loud, fairly powerful and all around an OK fan. It's not made of the best materials (pretty cheap, hopefully durable!) and it was a little scary putting it together because I wasn't sure if it was even going to work! But after it was snapped together, I'm pleased with the result. I don't expect this to last me more than a couple of years, but hopefully I'll be pleasantly surprised!!     • Best Pedestal Fan Ever!
We use fans to augment the window air conditioners in our home, so I've owned a lot of them over the years and this one is the absolute best! First, no tools to assemble it. Second, it has it's own system of holding the front to the back - it snaps on instead of using all those plastic clips that fall off or break or get lost (one of our old fans is held together with wire, at the moment). Third, the three fan settings are just right - instead of wimpy, not quite as wimpy and tornado force. Really - low, medium and high. The oscillation is wide and they run efficiently and quietly. I love these fans. After purchasing the first one, I bought two more and I was so impressed with the brand that I bought a small table fan with which I'm equally impressed. Undoubtedly, I'll buy a couple more for the upstairs, next year. They're the best; can't recommend them highly enough! ... show more

    • Worst purchase I think I have made in a long time.
If I could rate this less than zero, I would. If it wouldn't cost me more in shipping and aggravation, I would send it back. 1. All cheap plastic. ALL OF IT. 2. The grill is supposed to just "snap on". Right. NOT!! My husband and I have both spent WAY too much time trying to get this cheap plastic grill to "snap on". You get one notch thing to line up and snap on, then every other one you try after that makes the previous one pop out. Many hours and more curse words than either one of us would like to even admit to - and the fan is operating with no grill. Luckily we don't have small children to worry about. 3. EXTREMELY NOISY. Very loud. Part of the reason I like to have the fan in the bedroom at night is for the noise. Well, I am thinking I will sleep through a tornado with this thing blasting. 4. Extremely unhappy with this product. My husband has forbidden me to buy another Lasko product. This one was replacing a Lasko digital fan that came on and off all by it's self when ever it was in the mood. On? Can't turn it off without unplugging. Off? Whenever it felt like it. Sometimes - like around 2am or so, it would actually click on and off in really fast succession - just until it woke me up. NO LASKO PRODUCTS IN THIS HOME AGAIN. :( ... show more

    • Beat the DC summer heat
I have a pretty inefficient air conditioner in my apartment, and after a vacation in Aruba where my nights were saved by a rotating fan, I realized I needed to purchase one of my own. With Prime shipping my fan was at home before I was. It was very easy to set up, I had no problem with the grates snapping together, it doesn't wobble, and I was able to adjust it to the height of my bed. I've always kept the fan on setting 1. I like the white noise it offers, but I think I'd find the higher settings a bit too loud. On the hottest days I use both the a/c and the fan to redirect the cool air back at me. But now that's it's fall I still like to sleep with just the fan because of the white noise. And it keeps me from being too hot without having to run the a/c all the time. Two year update: I've used my fan every night without any issues, except that like any fan, it's hard to clean. I try to dust it often, but today I took the fan apart and soaked the plastic pieces is the tub with some oxygen bleach powder. I'm very glad everything was plastic and very easy to take apart because now I have a perfectly clean fan again! Five year update: I’ve used my fan every single night for years now with almost no issues. One night the blade came loose and we were woken up by the terrifying racket. Now I tighten everything up every few months and haven’t had any issues. Twice a year I soak everything in the tub to remove collected dust and it’s good as new. The pedestal collected some grime over the years but was spotless after 5 seconds with a magic eraser. I’m so glad I got a good old-fashioned fan because it’s a lot easier to clean and than a tower fan. I know I mentioned the white noise before, but it’s probably the best part about sleeping with this fan. We live in a noisy apartment building, but even when our neighbor is blaring music we can’t hear it from the bedroom. ... show more
