This is my second Lasko product - I also have a portable heater - now that fan is assembled, it seems to fill my expectations and is doing a good job. I would have given it 5 stars if it had been easier to assemble from the paperwork included. A few sentences on that paperwork regarding Instruction 1 would have been helpful. The picture is so small that it is not much good either. I went to the Quick Assembly Video indicated and was done asswembling in a couple of minutes. Prior to that I was not exactly sure what to do. This is not the first thing I have assembled, most have more explicit instructions, not just some poor picture and no info. Nothing wrong with product, it is running now. Poor written instructions, but VIDEO is excellent. My Lasko heater is so nice that I felt the fan would be a good choice and it is. Nothing against fan. Would purchase again. I really is easy to put together when info is there. ... show more

This is a very unusual fan. Most have narrow blades and run at high speed which makes them annoyingly noisy. This fan has wide blades and a powerful motor making it move a lot of air. But it's lowest speeds are quite slow which makes it very quiet compared to others. If quiet is important to you, buy this fan! The pole is friction fitted to the base so it's not completely secure and the pole height adjustment isn't very positive either but those are minor niggles. There is one assembly quirk that seems to have caused other reviewers problems. It seems intuitive to put the front grill cover over the back grill of the fan but it won't fit that way. On the new version we received, you put the front grill *into* the back grill and then it fits fine. On our older version, if memory serves, the front cover went over the back one and had clips. Oh well... Outstanding product especially at the price. ... show more

Our fan arrived on time and was just unboxed this morning. After reading some of the reviews, we could not disagree more with the trouble of putting it together, poor instructions, poor workmanship, etc. My husband opened the box (frustration free packaging ordered), took out the various pieces and without even looking at the instructions, had it fully assembled in approx 6-8 minutes. Snapping the front of the fan onto the back to finish the job took about 2-3 mins of that time. Just need to align it right and it snaps right into place! The fan is quiet, good flow of air, and an excellent price. We actually donated our used fans (same make and style) this year as quite frankly, we just didn't feel like taking them apart and cleaning all of them. We knew they were getting older and at this price, why not!?! Our prior Lasko fans were the same style and lasted us 15--20 years. Is it heavy duty, metal, solid? No. It's plastic as expected, nice and lightweight, easy to move to any room, and the base is stable. What more can we ask for? Heading off to order our second one for upstairs! ... show more

I guess for the price I shouldn't expect much but still I did. This is a cheaply made standing fan..I got it to use in my sister's hospital room. It does the job. It gives her airflow which otherwise she wouldn't have. I just wouldn't expect it to last very long. I could be wrong but I don't think so. It's wobbly.
