  • AESTHETICALLY BEAUTIFUL
The LaserMax CF-SHIELD is aesthetically a beautiful looking laser for the S&W M&P SHIELD 9 MM. Please keep in mind that you must first activate this laser via the button on the side, so if you're looking for something that activates by touch, this may not be the one for you. Prior to installation, write down the serial number which is located on the inside of the laser for registration purposes only. Follow provided instructions for installment, but before attaching the screws, pinch the front of the unit together applying firm pressure while securing screws. This will eliminate any gaps in the units housing. Also, be prepared to purchase an additional 3N battery or two in case your battery provides less than optimal results. Though I've evaluated and reviewed several lasers prior to purchasing this unit. I decided to go with the LaserMax CF-SHIELD because of this unit aesthetically matching the firearm, and with the 5 year warranty you can't go wrong. But if I were to rate them in order according to their reviews and longevity, it would be... 1) ArmaLaser 2) LaserMax 3) Crimson Trace 4) Viridian Reactor I hope you enjoy this review. ... show more

  • Set your sights on this!
I have a Lasermax on a number of handguns. They fit very well and look, almost, as on original part of the weapon. A new feature that my older ones do not have is the spring loaded activation switch and auto disengagement after 10 minutes. Saves battery power if you forget. As far as accuracy goes, considering most fire fights in the civilian world take place between 10-15' , these are comfortably accurate. Having worked in the law enforcement community for 33 years, I am used to carrying a firearm and, as I age, the Lasermax retains my confidence in my abilities to use one. ... show more

  • What you need at half the price
Love this thing and at a fraction of the price. Bright red laser, fits the gun well and looks seamless. Not sure what others were saying about not enough room near the trigger, there's plenty of space. Didn't come zeroed in but that's fine I figured some adjusting was necessary.

  • Fits great on my shield performance center 9mm!
Installation was quick and easy. Just make sure you have the right size philips head screw driver. Do not use a fatter/wider philips head or you'll strip the screws that hold the laser in place.

  • Nice, but fat fingers beware...
I mounted this on my M&P Shield .40 with little trouble. It projects a red dot that lines up with your iron sights at around 7 yards or so, I have found. It's nearly impossible for me to see the red dot in the daylight, but indoors or at night, it's very bright. I can reach the on/off button easily with my trigger finger. My only real complaint about this is: The unit comes in two pieces which fit over the pistol trigger guard and snap tightly into place and are held together by two tiny screws. This is very sturdy with no movement, however it reduces the room inside of the trigger guard (which is bad news if you have fat fingers). When I pull the trigger, the recoil causes the underside of the tip of my trigger finger to grind up against the plastic of the laser sight unit. After firing several rounds, that one spot on your finger is going to feel very raw and painful. You may not mind or notice this if you're in a self defense situation and adrenaline keeps you from feeling anything, but during target practice you probably will, so I'd suggest wearing shooter gloves. ... show more

  • Great customer service and "easy" adjustment
Wow! Not sure how else to describe it. My wife struggled to find the target but now has TONS more confidence and enjoys shooting. --- One note: my laser windage was off a few inches to the left when shipped. I tried adjusting but it wasn't moving. I figured we'd go shoot with it after reading a few reviews and try again. After putting about 100 rounds through it, it was now a couple of inches to the right (all of this at 20 feet). Still no luck with the adjustment. I called LaserMax and the gentleman suggested trying to back out the elevation as that might "jar it loose". While on the phone it didn't seem to work so he was going to send me another one. However, after I hung up and played with the elevation a bit more (which by the way, was working), I got the windage to now start working. Each "bump" moved it about an inch. Obviously I called them back to cancel the shipment but what great customer service that they were so willing to send out a replacement. 5 stars ... show more

Nice laser. Looks like it was part of the gun already. Have gone to the range with it 4 times. Battery last approximately 2 hours. I was able to get (3) one hour spot at the range before changing the battery by obviously turning the laser off while not using it. it is very accurate. I currently had it zerod at 30 ft. After my forth trip to the range the right power button has stopped working. Hence the 3 star rating. Had it not been for that issue I would have given it a 4 possibly a 5 star rating. ... show more

  • The great thing is I was able to see the down-left ...
Bought this because I was having trouble aiming with the Shield tactical sights. Installed in minutes, worked first time and every time. Several hundred rounds downrange without a hitch. Still shot down and left. Not a Laser Max problem....my grip and trigger pull. The great thing is I was able to see the down-left pull by watching the laser dot. Practice with the Laser Max when dry firing has much improved my technique. Now can get an accurate group with or without the laser. Note: I don't use the tactical sights and laser at the same time. One or the other gives same result. Laser Max looks like part of the pistol, not an add-on. I don't use a holster so don't have a fit problem. Recommended as a good tool, not an answer to technique problems. Glad I purchased. ... show more
