I have always wanted one of these but never wanted to spend the money or had a good enough reason to make it worth buying one. I needed to measure a house so I could model it and do the architecture for it, so I bought this to make the task go faster. It is very accurate, easy to use, easy to read, the memory function is very helpful, and the bright laser makes it easy to know where you are pointing it. I have not tried it outdoors or over very long distances but it works great for measuring rooms in a house. The pouch makes it easy to carry around. The only thing I wish it had was a rechargeable battery so I didn't have to worry about bringing AAA with me just in case. ... show more

It actually over produced itself. It says up to 165 ft. T it definitely went a good 177 ft for me. It's significantly faster and more convenient than traditional measuring methods, especially for large or awkward spaces. Simple to use and you can store your measurements. Overall great buy!

This device came in very handy for home theater speaker placement in a non uniform listening room. It's not totally accurate but it's close. I only used basic measurement. I can't comment on the other functions. It's not very bright so maybe no good for outdoors, but for basic indoor measurements it's a no brainer for the cost.
