It took him about an hour to assemble, wire, and hang 1 light. We have them on dimmers. They dim beautifully and same for full light. We are so happy with the turnout. Highly recommend for the price. Albeit for indoor use, we porch mounted it. Awesome. But with 8 led light bulbs, it’s as bright as morning sunshine. Happily we already have a dimmer, and 50% is good enough. We are pleased. Installing took ~1hr to assemble and 1 to demo old unit and installed the new. Product issue: the ground cable, apparently at packaging, the cable was work-hardened and broke apart when unfolding, requiring repair before use. Hardware also short. I’d complain, but my shop has some metric screws, so no issue to move on. Minus a star due to quality. ... show more

We hung this in our living room. We have 10 ft ceilings and this wagon wheel light worked great with only using 2 chain lengths. Highly recommend

We have been looking for a farmhouse-style chandelier to illuminate our carriage house for years, but never followed through because they were just too expensive. Then we came across this model offering a reasonable price for a 4' round chandelier. We were all in. I was surprised when it arrived and it was in a small box. Well, that's how they saved on shipping, the light requires assembly. No big deal, I have some electrical skills. The light assembled rather easily, and all the screws lined up to attach the four sections of the ring. It was smart of them to keep the screws hidden on the top and inside. You had to snake the wires up the four center poles to the central meeting point and secure all four neutral and hot wires to the lead coming down from the top. They included a crimp connector and heat shrink tape to secure the five wires leading into each nut. I chose to use lever nuts instead, a much simpler and more secure connection. I recommend they include these four do-it-yourselfers. Also, you will notice that all the wires are marked for (L)hot and (N) neutral to keep the polarity consistent throughout the light and not have an issue with LED bulbs that are sensitive to polarity. Follow the directions even if you intend on using standard bulbs, you never know about the next person that may own it. Have another person assist you in hoisting it up over your head. It's not heavy but is awkward to handle due to its size. We made the stupid mistake of installing the bulbs while the light was on and when we over-twisted a bulb, it exploded and cut my husband's hand. Tip: Don't install the bulbs while the light is on, no brainer, huh? What were we thinking? The light can take bulbs up to 40w bulbs per candelabra and there are 36 of them. So, it puts off a lot of light. Of course, you can use a dimmer if you choose and I recommend that you use a dimmer rated for LED lights if that is what you intend to use. Overall I was impressed with the light and thought it was worth my efforts to assemble to save a lot of money. It illuminates the area and doesn't come across as a cheap light. It looks really good in the space which we use to entertain large family gatherings and Halloween events. Finally, we have a light installed in our carriage house after 14 years. Price and function finally came together. ... show more

We could not be happier with this light. We have it mounted in our pole barn mini mansion. The light is mounted 16' above floor level and looks great. It gives off a nice glow and really spreads the light out. Once assembled this light is nice and sturdy. Assembly was not difficult but was a little tedious. Price was right for us as well. We are happy and we would buy this light again. 5 STARS ... show more

    • Nice light but WOW what a pain to assemble
OK - so to begin with, YES the quality is there, YES it looks GREAT when installed, and YES - it's as good as similar units from the "Big Box" stores at about 1/3 the price. THAT said, unless You are quite handy, PAY someone who is to assemble and install it. There are a lot of components that are fiddly (at best) to get aligned and there are a few bolts / screws You will want to replace with longer versions BEFORE hanging. From MY perspective, it would be a 4-5 star product all day long as i have plenty of mechanical and construction experience. For the average homeowner or "Weekend Warrior" decorator, it's going to cause some frustration. Once together, it's gorgeous and HUGE as well as again, 1/4-1/3 the price of buying locally (which doesn't mean that the local ones are any easier to assemble, they aren't trust Me). If You want easy, go hire a local fabricator to build You one for $3500 or more - it'll weigh a TON and once 8-14ft in the air, likely look no different. I hate to play "Devils Advocate here because i REALLY Love the light, once all the BS of assembly, etc was complete. ... show more

My aunt already had one wagon-wheel light installed in her house and wanted another for the barn (not really a barn anymore, been renovated into more of a cookout/gathering space).
