Features

  • Attention Before Purchase: Our glass dog door has a fixed - swing mechanism. If it's installed on the left side of the glass door, it can only open inward. If installed on the right side, it can only open outward. This is non - adjustable because of the design structure. Also, note that installation demands using a drill to bore holes in the door frame.
  • Openable Design: Our dog door for sliding glass doors opens inward to maximize limited space, making it easy for people to move items in and out of the backyard. Additionally, we've filed for a patent.
  • Adjustable Height: The large doggie door for the sliding door frame adjusts from 75 - 7/8" to 81" in height, with a glass door width of 14.8". This fits most villa and patio sliding glass doors. To ensure the correct height, measure from the top track to the inner bottom track of your aluminum sliding door frame.
  • Perfect for Large Pets: Our sliding glass door pet door features a semi - transparent flap that measures 10 wide by 16 high. This size provides a clear view and easy passage for pets weighing up to 100 pounds. Additionally, it comes with a safety lock, enhancing home security while allowing you to control your pet's access.
  • Energy Efficient & Weatherproof: Our large doggie door for sliding doors is crafted with a robust aluminum frame, a magnetic - seal flap, windproof strips, and a convenient slide - in closure panel. This combination is expertly designed to stand up to harsh weather conditions, ensuring your home remains cozy, secure, and energy.

  • Largest dog door on the market
Color: 81" Sliding Door Size: Xlarge - 1 Flap
We have two large dogs and it has been a challenge to find a dog door that is big enough for them to go in and out. This dog door has been a dream come true for us. We do not have to get up and down to let our dogs out anymore. We have a Rhodesian Ridgeback that is 150 pounds and a Pyrenees poodle mix that is 75 pounds. They can go in and out of the very large Dog door with ease. So far, we have not had any issues with bugs or other animals coming through the door. Seems to have a really strong magnet on the flap. There is a locking mechanism that does fit very snuggly. I always make sure to have the mechanism locked so when the dogs go in and out of the door, it does not dislodge the door for any reason. It seems to be a good price for a good quality door. The only con that I can see is that I cannot find a replacement flap and magnetic parts by that company. I will have to search for generic options for when the flap rips. I would assume with these large dogs eventually it would rip. Easy setup! The only con with the door is occasionally if there’s a really strong wind, the flap does seem to flop open and close occasionally. My cat did try to escape once, but quickly came right back in in fear of the outdoors. ... show more

  • Follow instructions, decently built product.
Color: 81" Sliding Door Size: Large - 1 Flap
Door was relatively easy to assemble. Helps to have someone else but not necessary. I would recommend putting a lock bar on the sliding door (might need to do some cutting). Door is relatively slim so it’s easy to pass around it. The lock for the cover hits the sliding door but I just hold it open till im done. The shims on the new lock made it easy to keep it even and locks great but I had to install weather stripping on the sliding door and put the rubber strip on the new doggie door now it seems perfectly and feels very snug (no air coming thru). Bolting the bottom part is a bit confusing just do your best and make sure it’s not wobbly. Not sure how sturdy the glass is against hail so I’ll update later if it breaks 😂 large seems to fit 75 pound golden retriever. It looks a bit snug but I think it’s perfect. He is still a bit scared to go thru it. I will say that with very strong winds the flap does open and shut but it’s not nearly as bad as my old one so I don’t mind. The screws for the upper and lower locks that keep the door from opening are a bit short which might be a safety concern, I ended up using my own screw for that. Very solid build all metal. You’ll have to do some drilling into the wall to make it easier for the screws to go into the wall! Instructions were clear on everything except the part of the rail since the piece doesn’t fit snug. Will not stress enough that the extra weather stripping can be used between the two doors to prevent air coming thru!!!!! Will update later on it’s durability since it’s gonna start storming and hailing in Texas over the next few months ... show more

  • Worth the struggle to have a dog door that swings open
Color: 81" Sliding Door Size: Large - 1 Flap
A lot of minor issues as listed with other reviews. That's why 4 stars instead of the 5. Quality of the dog door is really good overall. The magnet on the flap has a good hold, the puppies and the dog go easily in and out of it. I really like that the dog door can lock to my slider and stay secured when I'm not home. The way the slider closes now having a dog door leaves a small space where heat, bugs or rain could get in. I would suggest adding a small seal to that part of the door if anyone comes across that issue. (picture attached above) Issues we came across... -Leveling was an issue but easily fixed. -When adjusting the height of the door one of the springs popped out fully and needed to be put back in, inorder to lock the proper height in for the door. -Weather stripping that was provided was a little too thin so had to buy a thicker weather strip to close the gaps. And we applied cocking were some of the seals had small gaps where weather strip can't fit. -Some of the screw holes needed to be drilled more in order to get hardware to fit properly. -The lock to the dog flap doesn't pair well. If slider is closed and door flap is locked you need to open the slider to then unlock the lock to the flap. I don't plan on using that feature but want to make any buyer aware. Also the door for the flap does not stand up evenly when locked in the up position. It slants to the side as mentioned in another review. I'm happy with the door and love how it can open up. Its convenient and was kinda worth the hassle 😅 but I don't think I'd buy this specific one again just because of all the minor issues that we came across when installing. We had a regular dog door before that was waaaay easier to install but it didn't have the locks and ease of access like this door does. ... show more

  • Overall solid choice
Color: 81" Sliding Door Size: Xlarge - 1 Flap
Quality and appearance are good. The installation is definitely a project (4-6hours) and required good handyman skills. The instructions were pretty good, but our door required some modifications. Overall, it's worth the time and effort. Looks great and seems like it will last for years to come.

  • Love the idea, but it is not perfect
After installing this dog door, theses are my experiences to share and some comparisons with my previous dog door. The pictures describe some of the issues encountered. First, I think this dog door is more substantial than my previous one, it is heavier and the glass feels thicker. Obviously, the major appeal is the ability to open and close the door for human access. The installation is much more permanent (with self tapping wood screws onto the frame) than wedging the dog door in between the sliding door and frame. Second, I encountered some instructional assembly issues. I'm not sure if the hinged glass panel and the hinged dog door were supposed to be installed onto the frame already (that's how they were packaged in the box). The instruction showed every piece unassembled. So it took me a minute to reorient and trace the steps. I still ended up with a few extras screws. I only had 1 option to fit the dog door in my sliding door frame track, which is in the middle of the sliding door track. I would've liked to fit the door in one side of the track or the other, but the door and the gap are both exactly the same width. So I positioned the gap on the bottom of the dog door over the middle track of the sliding door frame. Then, I screwed the dog door frame to the sliding door frame and added some seal strips to wedge the gap on the interior/exterior and top/bottom of the dog door. For now, with this dog door, I opted not to use the dog door lock. It impedes with the metal door when I try to slide it up and down to open and close. When the lock is unlocked, it also impedes with the closure of my glass sliding door. I did not use the regular door lock because I don't want to drill into my sliding door. To "lock" my door, I use a sliding door security bar, aka. a piece of wooden dowel in the door track. The dowel also helped to push the sliding door against the dog door for a better seal. Compare to my previous dog door (which had its own installation issues), I do like this door better. I really do like the ease of locking and unlocking the human door with a simple push of the locks. It took (embarrassingly) a lot longer to assemble and install this door. However, I think I am just more particular about how my sliding door operates with the dog door. I am also more aware of how my dogs sometime rushes out the door and can "abuse" and shift the door. So, I appreciate the long screws in the door frame, and I also spent more time sealing and wedging the gaps to keep the door as stable as possible. I was able to address most of the gaps all along the door. The top of the door is unleveled, but I just need to tinker with it a bit more. It is very irritating that the included seal strips are not great... the only one I think works adequately is the white, flat, rubber-like seal strip along the exterior border of the whole dog door. I think this is a great idea for dogs and humans... however, there are still several issues to work out, e.g., upgrade the seal strips which could solve over 75% of review complaints. The product still needs some reevaluation on the design, e.g., smaller dog door lock, placement of it, or widening the frame by a few cm more. When compared to my other dog door, the metal frame feels more robust and the opening is slightly taller for my huskies. The dog door flap feels heavier and thicker, but I don't think my dogs like the darker gray color... they can't see through it and they think the door is closed... finding the flap replacement may also pose an issue down the road. I wouldvebliked double flaps or something for a better seal and prevent heat/cool air loss. The single flap doesn't really align perfectly with the magnetic strip in the dog frame. Overall, I really like the whole idea of this door. There are good and negative points with this openable dog door. The price point is comparable to the traditional full frame dog door. But, everytime I find a feature I like, there is an issue with the installation, assembly, size, positioning, etc... so it requires substantial personal "customization." In the end, if I had to choose between this and the traditional wall cut out or other full framed sliding dog doors, I think I would pick this product... but it is not quite perfect and requires substantial preparation and time to make this work. ... show more

  • Game Changer!!!!
Color: 81" Sliding Door Size: Large - 1 Flap
Not only is this sliding glass door pet door affordable, the engineering concept of a swing-out slider doggie door is just plain brilliant! We bought the regular Large size. First things first! Watch the installation video on YouTube and read through the rather vague instruction manual “twice” BEFORE you assemble anything. You will notice they don’t align in terms of the assembly steps, but they’ll help you get the job done more efficiently. Both the installation video and the written instructions could be better. ;) A single person could certainly install this by themselves, although it is definitely easier with an extra set of hands. When we assembled the door frame bracket ( ] ) the upper portion of the bracket was screwed to the side frame per the instructions. However, the top screws needed to be unscrewed when installing the patio door frame so you can extend the frame to fit the opening (don’t forget to use the little piece of cardboard as the top spacer with the sticker on it that says “save this piece of cardboard” on it). Lucky for us our door was plumb and square so no issues with that thankfully, although shims are provided. We also have a “slide rail” on the bottom track of our door so we did not need to screw the bottom frame bracket into the slider frame and it fit nice and snug so we didn’t need the T brackets either. Upon opening we saved the shipping box, opened it up and laid it on our kitchen table to use as our “work area” while we assembled the sections of the door. If you have any magnet trays or bowls, use those to keep screws from rolling around. With both of us working together, it took us just under two hours to install the door, BUT, that included a trip to Home Depot to get upgraded weatherstripping. We did not use any of the weatherstripping included in the packaging. We bought three sizes and types of white rubber weatherstripping plus upgraded ¼” “brush” weatherstripping and installed different ones around the door to get the best possible seal. Our door is sealed tight and is very snug. It snows here so a good weather seal is important. It does come with a door lock that can be installed, but that lock installation requires you to drill holes into the interior side of the sliding glass door panel above your handle, which we didn’t like. Instead we opted to use the old-fashioned screw-tight door/window frame locks for the top and bottom of the door if we need to lock the slider. The door is surprising well-built for the price. We bought a name brand pet door from Home Depot for our bedroom slider years ago that cost more money and isn’t as functional and this one is easily as good, if not better quality. We LOVE that it unlocks and swings open if we need more room or have people over. The parts all fit together well, it is nicely made of sturdy aluminum, and the locks and door flap are certainly as good as any other similar slider pet doors you would get at a big box store. Highly recommend! We have an 80 lb Labradoodle, a Sheltie and a Pomeranian, plus two cats who use this door. The magnets are pretty strong so it requires the smaller animals to push a little harder, but they all figured it out pretty quick. ... show more

  • Satisfactory
Color: 81" Sliding Door Size: Xlarge - 1 Flap
There were just a tad bit confusing instructions when it came to using the t-shaped anchors at the bottom. This product is very well engineered and I enjoy it heavily works amazing, decently sturdy. (Obviously wont stand again someone who really wants to break in, but neither will a glass patio door) I caveat, I wish the door sealed a bit better. Overall though this was a great purchase, and being able to swing open the door to reclaim the rest of your patio is phenomenal. ... show more

  • Exsqueeze me!
Color: 81" Sliding Door Size: Medium - 1 Flap
For the last three years, I've been squeezing past the dog door I installed in my sliding patio door. In order to enjoy a meal in my backyard, I'd have to hand things to my friends one at a time: "Oh, here's a hot dog. Wait, here's the mustard!" etc. Annoying. This solves that problem. It was fairly easy to install, though for my door the extra bracket holding the door at the bottom was impossible to install and, as it turns out, unnecessary anyway. The pet door swings out of the way very easily. I often leave it unlatched to go in and out, and it stays in place pretty well, keeping bugs outside where they belong. The latches are easy to lock when you need to. The bottom one is easy enough to use your foot on; the top one is, well, on top, so no problem there. The only part that puzzled me was the latch that keeps the doggie flap down. I find it totally useless, and I'll probably remove it. The inside guard, though, is a very sturdy metal. One thing to be careful of is the frame on the bottom, which adds about 1 1/2 inches, and if you really stepped hard on it might tear out and bend. So don't do that. Another nice feature is that the glass is one long piece (at least in the medium size I bought), no bar across the glass. That makes it look a little more like it's supposed to be there. All-in-all, it's been a welcome replacement for a previously annoying part of my house. ... show more
