I’ve been really happy with this large over-the-door basketball hoop. it’s been a fun addition to our home and gets a lot of use from the boys. The backboard is bigger than our old mini hoop, which makes it feel more like the real thing, and the springy rim adds a nice touch for casual dunking. It was easy to set up right out of the box, and I love that it comes with three different size balls and a pump, good to go without needing anything extra. The brackets have soft padding on the back, which is a nice detail to help protect the door from scratches. The net isn’t the most heavy-duty, but it holds up fine for regular indoor play, and the whole setup feels sturdier than I expected for the price. ... show more

    • Nice large rim and single-piece backboard that is not sufficiently supported. Rattles a lot.

tl;dr: This is a good value set for folks looking for a large rim and single piece backboard. I wanted to find a set with a large enough rim for my son's indoor basketball. This was the best I could find at the time. The rim internal diameter is about 11-1/8" wide (~28.3cm) and spring loaded. Other sets with large rims had 2-piece backboards, but this one is a single piece. Only 2 cons to this set: - After putting this over my son's door (1-3/8" hollow core) and testing, it rattles. A lot. I added lots of felt padding (similar to the feet you would put under furniture) to soften the noise. There is foam around the edge of the board to protect your door finish, but more softer padding is needed. - The rim is too heavy for the backboard. It actually hangs down at a slight angle and causes the plexiglass backboard to bow out. ... show more

I am impressed with this setup! First off, the basketballs are much larger and much more substantial than I expected. They are roughly the size of cantaloupes, and they inflate and bounce just like real basketballs. Much nicer than the cheap/toy basketballs I’ve had with other setups. It’s also nice that the kit includes everything you need to inflate the balls, and hardware (including tools) for 2 different mounting options. I also like that they included extra screws and bolts in case any get lost. The return spring in the hoop is nice and firm, but not too firm. My nieces can dunk on them as hard as they want to with no fear of damaging anything. After hanging and testing it indoors, I ended up moving it to the inside of the garage. It’s a much better fit for that space because of the solid core steel door, and because the basketballs are hefty enough that I was worried about hitting my ceiling fan. This turned out to be the perfect setup for those cold or rainy days, or the inevitable garage party at the end of the night (every good party ends up with everyone hanging out either in the kitchen or in the garage, right?!) For a little more money than some of the others, this is a lot more quality and fun! 100% would buy it again! ... show more
