  • Good little speakers
I put two of them in the back deck of my car and played them too death. Took them out of and put behind the seat in my truck and still playing them hard. Put out a lot of sound for there size. Holding up good. Do need to be in a siled box. Great little speakers.

  • Bangin Bass in a small package
The only reason i dont give these 5 stars is of course because they r not 600w speakers. 600w is the peak ppl dont expect 600w out of a 1.5in voice coil! they r great small subs perfect if u dont have alot of space to work with. i just got them in today and tested them out free air n they thump pretty hard, threw them in a small enclosure i built to test them out n they bang! i am by no means a professional, but i have been around the car audio world my whole life. with my whole family into car customs i have learned alot and my favorite part is audio, specially bass! these subs are no good for a spl competition but they r great if u just want to add some good deepish bass to your car without dropping a big box with 10s or 12s. these are going in on a 2002 blazer 4dr and yes i got 4 of them, just tested them out in the car, not having too much trouble installing so far but they are sounding best at about 200rms power i would not even run them past 250rms because they begin to sound too forced! if u can keep them at about 150rms that in my opinion would be best! be sure u know the specs on your amp and buy an amp that will match up perfect! i will be running these at 200-250rms and see how long they last, again not for outstanding bass just enough to shake the car a bit haha. with 4 subs in custom door panels at about 200rms each at 2ohms, dont go lower! try to stay at 4ohm if ur amp is good at 4ohm the one i got is stable at 2ohm as most are, tuning your amp makes all the difference! toy around with the settings on your amp or have a professional do the install. recap: keep under 300w rms power preferably 150w with a well tuned amp and they shud last for a long time and keep producing a great sound and deep enough bass for most ppl. if you want more than that then go for lanzar's 12s they r not bad at all and stay running strong if you know what u r doing! ... show more

  • Great for my intended use!!
I purchased this to replace the blown factory JBL Audio 6.5 inch subwoofer in my 1997 Lincoln Town Car. As far as installation is concerned, the Lanzar was “plug & play,” as there were no modifications needed to mount it inside the car’s factory enclosure. That was surprising to me because, compared to the factory JBL sub, the Lanzar’s magnet is much larger. All the same, it fit perfectly. I have to rate the sound quality as a strong “fair.” I say this because the Lanzar only provides mid to high bass tones. It does not deliver on the lower notes at all. Keep in mind though, I’m running the factory 1997 head unit and sub amp; therefore, it may perform much better with more up to date equipment. The sound quality is no annoyance to me because the Lanzar does give my music the depth it was missing due to my blown JBL sub. At this price point, the Lanzar definitely is a great value for the money. I won’t win any sound competitions, but it is perfect for my application. ... show more

  • If you ask me turn up the bass.
I replaced all of the speakers in my wife's old 2001 Camaro this year and put these 6.5" subs in the sail panels. We are middle aged and it has been decades since I last messed with stereo stuff and had a 600 watt system in my ElCamino with 8 separates and 15" subs. I was a little worried that these subs would be too big to fit in the hole from which the paper speakers came but they slipped right in. After the install I stuck in an old copy of Bach Busters and I thought the whole thing sounded great. I was very impressed with the bass from these little subs as I ran through all the big bass tracks on the disk. After my wife took the car to work I asked her about the speakers. She told me that there were some issues... She said that "Funky Town" came on the radio (did I mention that we are older?) and the subs were rattling the car and it embarrassed her. She isn't enjoying the music as much because she is self conscious about someone hearing the speaker rattling her car. I am going to replace these with some mid range speakers in her car and put these in my Jeep. One word of caution, these speakers absolutely need a box to be heard. When I was testing the wiring I thought I would be disappointed because I could barely hear them until I placed them in the enclosure. They might not work on say a trunk package shelf with too much air space. ... show more
