I previously purchased a smaller version of this tool (1-1/8" to 2-1/8" range with 7/8" fork opening), but it was too small to fit my 2002 Porsche 986 ball joints so I returned it. I purchased this 32mm ball joint remover, and I can now pop any of my suspension ball joints with ease and with no damage to the control arms or ball joints. I used this tool on the "coffin" lower control arms on my 2002 Boxster Base Model and it worked great. A year ago I moved on to a 2003 Boxster S and have just used this tool to separate a few of the other control arm and front steering ball joints at the wheel carrier for a strut replacement project, and this 32mm tool is my new best friend. I do not have any rust on the ball joints, and this tool popped the joints in less than 30 seconds at all four wheels. I tried to use a different cheap ball joint separator to remove the front lower ball joints on a 2006 Honda accord. It tore up the boots, and in the end never fit well enough to remove the ball joint from the control arm. This one worked first try with no fuss, and didn't bother the boot at all. The middle adjustment screw to keep the arm level ensured the separator fit well and wasn't pushing itself off of the ball joint stud the entire time I was trying to use it. Works well Honda Odyssey 2005 may need to hit just little on knuckle while using, then flies off after pop that's why the Honda special tool has a tiny chain on it. These feel cheaply made, so I did not have a lot of faith. But, I was surprised. I've only used them 4 times, but that was more than I expected them to do. They are much larger than they appear in the photos - almost too large for a "normal" vehicle. They would be perfect for my suburban or a larger vehicle. They were really too large for the Sienna. Unable to use it. The bolt that’s supposed to come with the tool (as seen in the product picture did not come with it in the box. I requested a replacement and will provide an updated review once the replacement arrives.

I purchased this as an alternative of Honda genuine part SL0A202, which will cost more than $200 plus hard to find. It’s the only suitable tool to separate lower control arm and knuckle, especially when the open end faces upward. The CV axle is on your way to apply large or oversized separators.
