    • I switched from a Dyson to this Laifen Hair Dryer

I purchased a Dyson in August of 2021 for 399. What I loved about the Dyson was its ability beyond any other dryer to keep my hair from looking frizzy in the summer, and its ability to keep shine. However, my Dyson started not working properly, and so I had to make a switch. I did not want to spend another 399.00 on a dryer that only lasted two years, so I purchased The Laifen. The Laifen is an excellent alternative to the Dyson for several reasons! (1) It weighs less. This allows for more fluid movement of the hairdryer as opposed to sometimes feeling like I am flinging it if I am using my non-dominant hand. (2) Each dryer as a nozzle/vent on the bottom that must be opened up and cleaned out. On older Dyson model, this was tricky and a pain, because if everything wasn't put back just so, it simply wouldn't work. This Laifen model actually has a nice magnetic nozzle screen vent, making getting it off and on super easy. Simply wipe out the dust, return it, and it magnetically clips back into place. (3) The Dyson chord was superrr long. This might be great if you have a large room with only one plug that is far away from your mirror, or work on a salon, but the average person does not need that much chord (and it's heavy and bulky) so traveling with the dryer simply because of the chord and its weight was a pain. The Laifen's chord is long, but lighter weight and a much more reasonable length. (4) The Dyson running with other hot appliances kicked my circuit here at my apartment, but the Laifen did not. However, my hair did not notice the difference in drying time or length with one being less wattage or less powerful than the other. They dry hair the same way in about the same amount of time. If both dryers were the same, I personally would still choose the Laifen. I have noticed no change in how it drys my hair, it has the same attachments, it's easier to clean and weighs less, and best of all, I have money left over to use for other things! ... show more

Love the product. Size and design are great. Makes a ‘traditional’ size hair dryer feel quite clunky. It actually looks very good too! However, after only 13 months, the unit did lose heat. I contacted customer service and they were really responsive. They quickly took care of the issue and now I have a new hair dryer. If you are on the fence with a purchase all I can say is that given the great price, design, warranty and great customer service, you have nothing to lose. Any product can have issues but if that product has the backing of a responsive and efficient customer service dept then that for me is the differentiator in who has my business. As someone who relies heavily on their hair dryer for daily styling routines, I was initially thrilled with the Laifen. Its sleek design, powerful airflow, and efficient drying capabilities made it an indispensable tool in my beauty arsenal. However, my once beloved hairdryer has now become a source of immense frustration and disappointment. Less than a year after purchasing this hairdryer, it has inexplicably stopped working. The sudden malfunction has left me feeling not only dissatisfied but also deeply upset. Given the premium price point of the Laifen, I expected a level of durability and longevity that this product has failed to deliver. What truly exacerbates my disappointment is the fact that I had grown accustomed to the exceptional performance of this hairdryer. Its ability to swiftly dry my hair while minimizing heat damage was unparalleled. I had come to rely on it for achieving salon-quality results from the comfort of my own home. Unfortunately, the premature breakdown of this appliance has shattered my confidence in the Laifen. Like everyone, I was comparing this to the more expensive brand. I think this is the smarter choice and am very impressed. It's a huge improvement over my $40 Conair 1875W cool shot hair dryer I used for nine years. I don't miss that it died. The Laifen appearance is great. Minimalist and simple. Well-balanced and feels light. The attachments are magnetic and I'm happy there are two different concentrators as a choice for styling. The noise level is a huge improvement over a Conair "Quiet" dryer. The Laifen sounds only like a rush of air. You barely hear the motor at either level, it's more like wind. I'm sure I can even use this on my dog after giving her a bath and she won't mind. I think this will lower stress and protect my own hearing. The drying power is ideal. The low speed moves a nice volume of air, not wimpy. The high speed is very powerful yet still allows some control. The temperature choices are no heat, medium and high as displayed by the light ring. Medium heat is hot enough for styling, but not so hot you'd worry about damaging hair. High heat will definitely make you keep the dryer moving and avoid lingering on skin. To style my short straight hair with a round brush, I am using low speed with medium heat. High speed will dry faster, but will look wind swept if that's what you want. The cord is heavy duty soft rubber, not plastic. It's easy to manage and resists tangling. The 6-foot length is taller than me, so I wouldn't want it any longer. This is the best hair dryer I have owned. It is a lot of money, but I feel it is worth it for the ease and efficiency everyday. I can't imagine the more expensive brand being better and according to comparison reviews on Youtube it is not. ... show more

I have been using the Laifen hair dryer for a few weeks. I bought the one with 3 attachments. I use all three and they work great. My hair dries quickly. The dryer is light and compact. There are complaints about the length of the cord, but I’m not sure why. The cord is more than long enough. I highly recommend. ... show more
