Tech Support - I didn't need any. There are plenty of good youtube videos if you need assistance. Value for the Money - I didn't want to pay $245.00 for a Hard Drive. I had $100.00 in mind, but this was the best deal I could find for a solid-state LaCie 2T. I used to say I'm not a packrat, but now I can go for it. It's like buying an insurance policy for a fixed price for as long as the Hard Drive works; it's liberating. Durability - I have no idea, and time will tell. I read that a solid-state drive was more durable than HDD, so that became the only option I would consider to back up all my creativity. I also use 50 gigs of iCloud storage for .99 cents per month. Finally, I feel like I'm doing it right! I've only had the LaCie Hard Drive for a week. I like that Apple highly rates this brand for my MacBook Pro. I also like that LaCie built it to be beautiful with my Mac because, you know, I keep it plugged in, and it tags along everywhere we go like a tail. This is by far the most advanced and fastest drive, apart from smallest, that i own to date. It has changed and improved my workflow. For those using a pre USB-C intel macbook, the only bummer is that it doesn't come with the right cable. Only a very short USB-C to USB-C. I had to buy the cable separately so it does add up to the already somewhat hefty cost, but if i'm not mistaken, it is currently the fastest and best performing drive on the market. ... show more

This drive is ok. You cannot change the partition size without wiping out the volume and partitioning afresh. I am not sure if it will behave the same after that. Tech support not much help. It is recognized by the iPad 12.9 Pro.. However, it is very finicky about what cord you use. I had to buy several to find one that will get my computers to recognize it. I am still looking for a cord to connect it to my iPad 8 (USB- c to lightning). No usb -c to lightning connector has gotten my iPad 8 to recognize this drive. It should not be this complicated. They don’t tell you in advance that it only works with iPads with a usb-c connector. So, I am out of luck. It did not heat up on transferring large files like some other brands. So, I guess it is partially useful. E fat is finicky about file names. So I cannot copy all of my documents, from a more useful file system.
