Writing a review since there seemed to be mixed ones here. I installed it in place of an existing kwikset standard deadbolt. No issues on the installation. All of the holes lined up. The installation went quick and the instructions are straightforward. I didnt have any issues connecting the app and setting up codes. Remote locking and unlocking works great. No issues rekeying the lock. I did not link it to alexa or do any geofencing. I keep it locked and don't see a benefit from this. The autolock feature is nice to have. My only small complaint is it seems louder than other times I used a smart lock. I don't have one for a side by side so it might just be me. No need for a tone announcing the unlock and you can clearly hear it. I can't speak for the battery life. If I have to change them once or twice a year that is not a big deal. I preferred the look of the fingerprint reader, it just did not work. This lock does everything that I wanted and the app is also very good. Easy to setup schedules for housekeeper, and grant full access to whomever I like. The ability to add and remove users, and re-key anytime I wish is also great. All of my door hardware is kwikset, 4 doors, all keyed the same! It takes about 1 minute to change whenever you choose to do so. Instead of paying a locksmith or replacing the locks, you do it yourself for free- can't beat that price. ... show more

The touch screen is garbage. You have to tap it a hundred times just to get it to light up. I had read that you are supposed to put the back of your hand over the lock to get it to light up but even that doesn't work 99% of the time. The lock continuously disconnects from wifi and the only way to get it reconnected is to do a factory data reset so you have to set up every single code you had over and over again. I have had this lock just over two months now and have had to do a factory reset 5 times already in that short period. The lock sucks though batteries like I have never seen before. I have to replace the batteries about every 3 weeks. And have had to replace the batteries 3 times already in the short period I've had it. I had a kwikset lock before that was just coded lock and I would replace the batteries about every year and a half or even longer. To go through 4 AA batteries in 3 weeks is just ridiculous. The lock is rather loud. The motor is much louder than my basic coded deadbolt I had from kwikset. I chose this lock because I absolutely loved kwiket lock i had before and thought it was a great lock. Plus I love the rekey feature. But this lock needs some drastic work to get it up to speed with what I would expect from kwikset. As far as customer support I emailed kwikset about the issues I was having and it took them a week and a half almost two weeks to even respond. The app is very basic and you can't make many changes or do much with the app other than add a code or lock and unlock the lock. The biggest complaint I have about the app though is that there isn't a way to configure wifi settings or anything for the lock. So if you change your wifi password or the lock disconnects from the wifi as it constantly does you have to do a factory reset. The lock also says it is Bluetooth but literally the only think the Bluetooth is used for is setting up the lock thats it. If the lock has disconnected from the wifi the lock is completely rendered useless and becomes a standard regular deadbolt. Even though the app still shows it is connected and that it is connected via Bluetooth as well nothing. No changes can be made without a factory reset. The only way to determine that the lock has been disconnected from the wifi is from the history report and you see last updated yesterday at 00:00. And you know the lock has been unlocked or locked several times since that time. Or when you are trying to use Alexa and she responds the lock is not responding. Then you know it has once again been disconnected from the wifi. To sumerize I seriously regret my decision in choosing this lock and it needs massive amounts of work to even be considered a decent lock. I have always been a huge kwikset fan. But this is a huge let down and biggest waste of money. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. I don't understand how people are having issues with these. I'm a licensed electrician that performs work on electronics like these constantly. Instructions are very clear and simple to follow. Anybody would be able to install this, yes, even if you have absolutely no experience with door locks. Make sure that once you are done, or before you even start, you download the app and follow the on-screen instructions. I've always bought Kwikset door locks for the simple fact that not only they have a wide variety of products, they're the only ones I've found that you're able to change the barrel to YOUR existing key, as long as it's the same size key. Therefore no locksmith needed, nor having different keys for every single door of your house. The process to re-key the lock literally takes less than a minute. The Kwikset app has options for different pass codes for everyone in the family, has options to automatically lock the door after determined time. You can also add to Google assistant, or Alexa device to lock and unlock code (voice has either have to be saved for certain person, or you'll need to set up a code to unlock the door with voice assistant, I chose neither and don't care for the option of unlocking the door with voice assistant, just locking is good enough for me). Really great design, easy to install, extremely easy to use, and numerous options to work it, my favorite is that I can unlock it from anywhere in the world as long as I have internet available, which is huge since I have people that come and go to the house, best part is you can set temporary codes for each person as well, and you will have a log of who unlocked the door, so if something happens you know who the last person was to unlock that door. I would give it 6 stars if I could, the only downfall for me (which is really not a problem) is that it doesn't have fingerprints built-in, would have been nice to have that option, but not a big deal at all since the lock works phenomenally well.
