The SmartCode 915 touchscreen electronic deadbolt is a one touch locking motorized deadbolt. With your personalized code, you can enter your home with the convenience of keyless entry and the back lit keypad provides increased visibility. It features patented SecureScreen technology to prevent code detection from fingerprints on the touchscreen. SmartCode is easy to install, program and use, and operates on 4 AA batteries. It also features SmartKey Security as the back up keyway. The Venetian Bronze finish is hand rubbed to reveal unique bronze highlights and provides a rich and warm complement to the product's style.

I was very skeptical to buy another Kwikset smart lock after the Halo. Kwikset has absolutely atrocious customer service. I spent $250 on the halo and it broke after a month…. The battery compartment melted and the power lock ceased to function. Kwikset refused to replace it even though I had it less than a year… I purchased this lock as a direct replacement solely for the aesthetic and the easy rekeying feature so I could match all my keys again. So far I am very happy with the lock. This lock has already outlasted the Halo and I’ve only had it a month. Even though this lock is not Wi-Fi compatible, it has the 30 second lock function for peace of mind. The keypad has functioned well so far too. Save your money and purchase this over the halo. Also just know if you get a lemon Kwikset will not help you out. If you get a lemon it isn’t the end of the world, you’ll just have a very expensive standard deadbolt as I did for just about a year. ... show more

    • Neat idea but still needs some improvements.

I think the device is well made and neat but practicality; needs some work. The device is awesome for locking your door but unlocking can be a challenge. I notice I have the most difficulty with unlocking my device when it's hot. The sun sets facing the front of my house so when i get home around 5 PM the device has been "sitting" in the sun and it does heat up. So when i go to touch the keypad numbers, it sometimes doesn't recognize I'm pressing anything. I touch the metal of the lock and "heat up" my finger tips and that seems to "fix" the issue. Not sure if this is a product defect/glitch or something else. I guess this device is great for things like sharing a code with family etc so you don't have to worry about losing keys but for basic family use like bring home groceries but to just come home and fiddle with temp issues and a secure code; no.     • Too loud but works well.... needs better design for battery access...

Install was fine, looks great from outside and inside... it’s a bit loud when opening and closing... and the battery life could be longer... the piece that needs rework is the battery replacement... you need to unscrew 3 screws to do that... the next version needs to have a batter replacement method that does not involve me unscrewing and screwing the cover plate to get to battery pack... ... show more

    • Touchscreen Not the Best, and Drains Batteries Quickly

This touchscreen keypad is aesthetically pleasing to look at on my front door, but the touchscreen is not the best. The sensitivity on it could use some improvement. I have to tap it pretty hard sometimes just to get the numbers to light up. Also, we have had it for only a couple months before the batteries needed to be replaced. It still beeps sporadically as if the battery life is going again. Aside from that, the Kwikset Touchscreen Deadbolt is a nice product. Installation is easy, and the bronze color looks really classic. We have already replaced the plate due to scratches, so I can report that the customer service team at Kwikset is awesome. I recommend this product if you are thinking about making the switch from a standard lock to a touchscreen key pad. ... show more

I like this lock. I like the single digit buttons rather than 2 numbers on the same button. I like the safety feature of the finger print. I was locked out of my house a couple months ago when the electricity went out due to a storm. I usually open the garage door and park in the garage, but if the electricity is out that doesn't happen. My key would not open the front door since I never access the entrance that way. I was locked out. This is safe, secure, and easy to access. My house sitter for my pets has her code as does my best friend when she comes to visit. I may not be home when they come. Or, what if I were incapacitated? It's a safety issue. Love the lock. ... show more

is great to have a keyless entry that has more than 4 buttons providing true randomizing. the feature to use 2 numbers to bring up the full pad is a great way to make sure your finger prints don't give away what numbers you normally press. only complaint is that sometimes it is difficult to get it to register that i want the keypad to come on. I have used the different options and none seem any better than the other. not a huge deal, just a little nuisance at times. ... show more
