Purchased this pet-onesie for post-surgical wear after having our one year-old American Foxhound/Am Staff, Cookie, spayed. She is 52 lbs and leggy. She has been cooperative with wearing it (and this is the first 'outfit' she has ever worn.) We may just have gotten lucky that she doesn't bother with her stitches, but this provides a nice, clean protection for the wound area, deters licking, and protects her legs from being poked by the sutures. When I have taken the onesie off of her, she seems uncomfortable because the stiff nylon stitches get snagged on the carpet or poke her in the legs; she becomes visibly uncomfortable. Needless to say, she has been wearing this almost non-stop for six days. The neckline does work its way back and I need to readjust it on her from time to time, but since the collar is flexible, she doesn't seem to mind it too much/it isn't choking. Fabric is light and breathable. There is enough bagginess that it isn't chaffing, but to so much that it provides her access to her stitches. The way the onesie is designed, she is still able to do her routine "hygiene" to her backside. The belt doesn't cinch tightly to the body, so it doesn't rub the incision.

My chihuahua mix has to have her gallbladder out. The size small fits her perfectly. I measured her neck and length. The extra material and straps covers her abdomen and prevents her from scratching. It is easy to unvelcro and fold up for her to do her business.

Product is being used as a post-surgical suit - in addition to a cone - after extensive lower abdominal surgery. Even with a large cone, my dog can reach the lengthy incision site; this onesie helps to add an extra layer of protection enabling me to quickly run out to the mailbox, take my other dog on a potty break, and such. The suit is easy to put on and take off. The seat easily unfastens and rolls up the back, where it can be anchored in place, allowing for potty trips or increased ventilation under supervision without removing the entire suit. It appears to be well made and my dog - who does not like to be dressed up - seems to be very comfortable in it. Durability is not yet known; my dog is on Day 5 after surgery and has worn suit continuously as she is so comfortable in it, but I will be washing it tomorrow. (Note that, if needed, pads could be put in lower abdominal area to absorb minor drainage.) I removed one star due to sizing. Though I measured very carefully multiple times and read other reviews, the suit is a bit small, especially in length. In sum, this is the first time I’ve dealt with a surgical situation in the past ten years and this onesie, as a supplement to the cone, is a game-changer. I’m happy with the product.

Recovery suit worked great! My dog had 3 mammary tumors removed so there was a pretty big incision. I actually ordered another one for a backup when one is being cleaned. I highly recommend it. Easy to put on and the size was perfect.

I bought this because my sister told me about this and I had two dogs that were having surgery. I needed them to hold their tummys and stitches from coming out and them not to lick or clean themselves after surgery. They are very cute and practical. however. I was in a crunch and they came on time, but the reason I am giving it a 3 and not a 5 is because of the measurements. I took this according to what they said and went by that. I was at the inbetween size so I went up and that was ok except for it was way way to big. The sizing charts are very confusing and hard to read. I know that My sister did this for her cat and had to go way down. Mine was for two Dogs. If the way that the measuring could maybe better I think it would be great. Also on a side note their is no instruction on how to put it on, which is not all that hard to figure out butsome may not understand it. If the animal needs to use the bathroom, again this part does kind of make it hard when they just had surgery. It's not terrible but it's not the best. I think that there could be an easier set up for this too.

My puppy got spayed. For the 1st nite we stayed up all night to make sure she didn't bother incision Ordered from Amazon and came the next day. Didn't have to stay up all night with her. Wish I knew about it before the surgery.

Got this for our female sheltie to wear after her spay surgery. It fits her well and is just snug enough to give a slight compression for comfort on her surgery site, but it's not tight at all. She seems to be comfortable in it and has not messed with her surgery site once. Soooo much better than the 'cone of shame!' The material is soft and doesn't snag like another brand we bought for a backup. My only complaint is that it is a LOT of material to roll up from the back and velcro to the velcro on top, and it takes a while to do that and doesn't attach well because of the bulk of material, so if you're dog's in a hurry to get outside, that's a problem. My easy fix: since she has to be walked on a leash for 10-14 days after her surgery, my quick solution was to attach a small carabiner with a chip clip to her harness. I just roll up the excess material and clip it with the chip clip; it's faster, easier, and more efficient than trying to velcro the bulky material on top of her back. Other than that, it fits her well, washes and dries well (I've dried it in the dryer once and hung it up the other times and found no difference doing either. Just be smart and don't dry it on high!), we love it, she loves it, and it looks really cute on her!
