This ice maker works great. When I bought it I thought that it would keep the ice cold and that I would be able to store the ice inside of it. That is not the case. I have to transfer the ice to the freezer but it's still way better than ice trays and much faster.

UPDATE: Well, I've done everything the manual, guide, customer service and the Seller has asked and it just suddenly stopped dropping ice cubes like it did in the beginning. It's just random. I am waiting to see if I can get a refund from the Seller, since Amazon closed their return window. Sure glad I kept the box. Of course it happened just before July 4th and during a hot streak. No ice in stores, no ice maker at home. Back to the old fashioned and very S-L-O-W production. I like to give the product a good try before I write a review. I have been using my ice maker for about 3 weeks now. After delivery, I let it sit for a couple of days because the ice maker box was in a Amazon box and the driver wouldn't know which end is up. It was delivered on it's side; so I let it sit upright for a couple days. After reading the instructions, I was disappointed that I did not see anything visible or bolded that would give any indication that SPRING/MINERAL WATER is recommended. Definitely not distilled water. The reason I purchased an ice maker is because I am terrible at drinking water, but I like to eat ice. I was buying bags of Arctic Glacier, but besides the prices remaining the same, the bags sizes went down from 20 lbs to 16 lbs (big bag) and 7 lbs to 5 lbs (small bag); it can be exhausting to locate ice in the summer. I used to have a small freezer to store bags in, but had to sell it during tough times. I didn't think a portable ice maker could keep up with my ice eating habit, but I got quart size freezer bags and after the basket gets full, I put the cubes in a bag and into the refrigerator's freezer it goes. If you do this, the ice freezes up nice and becomes the frozen ice we are used to. Using spring water is how you get the clean, fresh no after taste ice cube. I think even purified or using filtered water pitcher might leave a taste, but I haven't tried it yet so I can't give my opinion. So overall, it has been successfully keeping my ice needs met. Today it is a bit warmer than usual and the ice maker is struggling; I usually can get more ice made in the morning hours, but today was a working day and I just use it until I have enough ice for the following day. Usually about 3 hours. Luckily I don't have to share with my roommates, but they are just happy there is a bit more room in the freezer now that the huge 16 lb bag of ice isn't taking up all the room. I hope my ice maker keeps working for a while. ... show more

I've been using it for some time now. It works great. Makes ice in about 10 minutes or so. It makes something like 8 ice cones at a time. The only thing I don't like is the drain plug it's just a rubber plug style and can be a pain when it comes to draining the machine. It doesn't use all the water when it makes ice because the water pickup isn't in the bottom, it's on the side of the reservoir and your left with 1/2 an inch of water that you have to drain. Work well enough on producing the ice, but it doesn't keep the ice cold enough to keep it frozen long enough to use. Will probably give it away and get another one.
