My boyfriend's calluses have been getting really bad lately and he lives with this rope attachment but always complains when we go on it so I saw this and bought it so fast! He can slip this attachment in his gym bag super easily and it has anti-slip tracks and places to put your hand way better than the tricep ropes at the gym!     • Great variety set for pull down exercises
The gym has a high/low equipment that performs the illusion known as "disappearing bars." You never know whether the bar will be close to the machine from one day to the next. You have to walk the gym on the days when it's not to see if you can find a bar that nobody is using. Buying my own bar was my solution. This is quite effective. It weighs eight pounds, has a high chrome finish, and rubberized plastic handles. The attachment knuckle is sturdy and easily rotates 360 degrees. It's a robust, military-grade piece of equipment that does all the many motions I need it to. This should endure longer than I will, in my opinion. (For those who are curious, I store it in my truck when not in use, and I did obtain permission from the staff at the gym before utilizing it. I simply make sure to inform any new staff members when I bring it in that it is mine and to not become alarmed when I leave with it. No issues so yet.)     • Great Alternative to "Traditional" Tricep Rope Attachment

Love the unique hand grips on this attachment. For MOST exercises this rope attachment feels better than the traditional type found in most gyms. It seems well made, very strong and I think it will be very durable as well. I have one issue with the way they picture one particular feature in the Amazon product info to the left of the product description. On the 6th picture down from the top (just above the video) it shows a close-up that says "360 [degree] rotation! I don't see what they're talking about. It's a solid, stationary steel buckle that does not rotate [unless you physically remove the caribiner and turn it around yourself!] This is not a deal breaker, but it's definitely not accurate. And that leads to just one minor inconvenience when doing back-to-back exercises from different directions in relation to the equipment. If I'm doing tricep extensions and then want to turn and do abdominal crunches with this attachment facing away from the machine (Bowflex, in this case) I have to remove the rope and turn it around...remember it's marked "R" and "L", unlike the traditional rope where it's the same from either side. Again, not too big a deal, but I actually wish it did have that "swivel". Finally, I agree with another reviewer that it should have come with a larger, stronger caribiner. I use my own because of that--and happen to have a lot of those around my workout area, so, that problem solved. Also, on the plus side, since this rope is longer (see pic) than the other type attachment, I have enough rope to grip for certain exercises without even using the ergonomic grips. There are 1 or 2 situations where I actually prefer gripping above the handles, and this still works great. Overall, though I may still alternate using this and the trad. type, I like having the choice. It's a good product. I took off 1 star for the 2 reasons mentioned above, but I do still recommend it. ... show more
