Just received this been looking at a lot of good and bad reviews on this soldering station, using Weller products for many years I am mostly a hobbiest. Really to be honest not bad mine was already set for English and once I turned it on the iron was ready to work I mean it heats up fast plus you can control temp, standby and other perimeters.It has a oled screen which looks great. the soldering station is small and it came with 3 tips so now I can do some smd work. idk how i could go back to those plug in soldering irons, when it comes to soldering pcbs you want to know you have the right temperature or you could over heat your ics. this thing just sits in the corner of my desk takes up no space because i actually keep my screw driver set on top of its aluminum housing. i can calibrate the tips, set the sleep mode standby mode and its temp in standby, if you work with pcbs as a hobbyist certainly get this. ... show more

    • Very impressive soldering iron with great features. No setup instructions. See UTube instead.
Youtube has several setup and calibration demos that a few buyers produced; The setup and calibration went smoothly. I also purchase a pack of 10 soldering tips and a stand that completed the soldering station. I'm very happy with the results.

    • Using for retro console repair
Find this item through Voultar's recommendation. Been using it for about 8months and haven't had any issues. Works as expected. Note that you need your own power cord. I used one from an old desktop monitor.

    • Doesn’t come close to set temperature
The only reason I tried this was because a customer said that the temperature control could be changed to Fahrenheit. Absolutely not true. Like another reviewer, I really wanted this to work. Nice simple design. Small footprint. However, useless as a soldering iron. I set the unit to 400 degrees C (752 degrees F). The temperature started changing fairly quickly. But it peaked at 250 degrees F after about 10 minutes. I left it going for 30 minutes where it reached 270 degrees F and there it stayed. Now some may say it could have been a bad tip, but in my limited experience with this unit that represents a 100% failure rate and I don’t have the desire to investigate further. ... show more

This soldering station is the best, and I have had the most expensive stations on the market. I love this machime but "be advised" order axtra tips, it burns through them about every year if you use it every day like I do.

    • Very good for beginners
I was recommended this soldering station by Voultar, and I’ll just say it is just as he described it. Very good and easy to use! Though it’s kinda dumb that you have to buy a power cord separately, but it’s a minor inconvenience to me.

    • Very nice setup.
This is the good one. There are many cheaper and some dangerous copies of this particular station. This heats up quick, holds temperature easily and has several nice features and a few gimmicks. The "boost" is nice for a large item to solder. The sleep function that wakes when you "shake" is kinda silly. But overall a world of difference compared to the cheap $10 non adjustable iron I had used previously. ... show more
