  • Perfect for hobbyists
Don't know why other reviews complain about this not coming with a power cord, it's clearly stated in the item listing. Great cheap iron, heats quick and it's comfortable to use. I wish the power switch was on the front but that's a nitpick, plus there's not really any space with how small it is. For the vast majority of hobbyist work you shouldn't need anything more advanced than this. ... show more

  • Works well. Nice to have a good hot soldering iron.
Works well. At first i did not push the tip into the handle far enough and kept getting error message. But I figured it out and now I am happy. Easy to use.

  • Not bad for the price
Just received this been looking at a lot of good and bad reviews on this soldering station, using Weller products for many years I am mostly a hobbiest. Really to be honest not bad mine was already set for English and once I turned it on the iron was ready to work I mean it heats up fast plus you can control temp, standby and other perimeters. It has a oled screen which looks great. the soldering station is small and it came with 3 tips so now I can do some smd work. It looks solidly built but it works with no issues I will update if I find something down the road. ... show more

  • Buyer Beware - You may get a soldering iron or you may get a paper weight.
I wanted this to work so badly. The first one I ordered arrived DOA, simply non-functional from go, no blown fuses, just wouldn't turn on the display. Must have just been bad luck eh? I ordered a replacement from amazon and returned the first one. The second one was slightly better, the screen would turn on! That's about it, the screen would turn on. It would kind of get hot a bit, between random error messages flashing on the screen. It melted a bit of solder, badly. Worse than a 10 dollar kit soldering iron. Absolutely useless. Did I just have really bad luck here? Probably, but will I give them a third chance? Hell no. I've wasted a ton of time trying this iron and I'm incredibly unimpressed. If you value your time and money, move on, this isn't a viable product. ... show more

  • best budget soldiering station
i got this too replace my d60 soldiering station. and i just love how you can set it up and go. and the tips it come with are good as my d60 tips. the only downside i can think of is the issue of going to sleep if your not going to used it for long. but this is great soldiering station to have on a budget. ... show more

  • Best small iron I have used
I have a number of consumer grade soldering irons, as I do electronics as a hobby. Used to be a Weller solder gun was my best tool, but as parts have gotten smaller I find myself using it less and less. My butane powered portable is great, but it is slow to heat, and requires frequent filling. Cheap electric irons are what they are; cheap & slow. This thing gets to temp in 10-15 seconds, and the feature list is amazing. Highly recommend at the two week mark. I'll report back if it turns out to be short lived. ... show more

  • Might set your house on fire
It worked well for about a year of soldering (monthly), but then failed in a dangerous way heating a tip until the entire cartidge was red hot. if I hadn't noticed in time, it could have caused a fire. I did some trouble shooting and tried it again with the same result. It has an unnecessarily extensive and confusing number of parameters to play with. I'm replacing it with a Hakko or a Weller ... show more
