  • Great Ground Anchor
Size: One Size Style: Anchor
Very heavy duty, all hardware was provided included the concrete drill bit. Although it is good they provide a drill bit, it is very low quality. I was able to drill one hole without problem but the bit stopped cutting half way through the second hole. Save yourself some frustration, get a good 5/8" and 3/8" concrete drill bit. Use the 3/8" to drill a pilot hole before using the 5/8" bit. Be sure to follow the instructions and drill the holes exactly as deep as the directions indicate. The last important tip, be sure to vacuum the concrete dust from the hole before using the 5/8" bit. Take you time and your anchor will be securely bolted to the concrete floor. ... show more

  • Solid!
Size: One Size Style: Anchor
I didn't have any concrete to mount this into (gravel front yard) so I dug a 1ft x 1ft x 2ft hole and filled it with concrete reinforced with rebar. I placed the shackle in the center, supported it with rebar so it wouldn't sink, and put just the screws into the concrete. I think I would have preferred longer bolts, but I decided it wasn't a big deal if the 3" ones were being supplied with it. Anyways, this thing isn't going ANYWHERE short of a cutoff wheel or diesel truck, thick chain, and a lot of noise. I'm satisfied with it. Paired it with Kryptonite's Fahgettaboudit w/ New York Lock. ... show more

  • Not the easiest install...
Size: One Size Style: Anchor
I wanted to get the kids' bikes to a more accessible location for them to be able to grab them and go instead of sorting through the garage, so set up an outdoor / side-of-the-house bike parking location. Despite there being similar locking solutions from Abus and Hiplok, I chose this Kryptonite because of the price and because it seemed to be an all-inclusive solution. I'm not disappointed with this product, but I'll just point out this minor detail: drilling concrete can not always be done with precision, and you may notice that even in Kryptonite's own installation video, they don't disguise the fact that they mis-drilled their mounting holes (it's plainly evident that the permanent marker marking is not where the bolt is). In my case I was expecting this, but what I didn't expect was the amount of spalling around the hole. This is 10 year old truck-delivered concrete in good condition, not some suspicious hand mix, so just a heads up. Also recognize that the base plate can not be used as a drilling guide, only as a marking template. The head of the masonry bit to too large to fit through the holes of the base plate to "force guidance" of the hole. So grab a smaller bit (1/8" or 3/16") and drill a pilot hole for each large hole. Lastly, I only drilled two holes and used two bolts to mount this shackle in my out-of-the-way residential location. Functionally, this mount is fine. I expect that it will last a good long while but will eventually succumb to rust, but probably not until the kids are grown up and moved out (but hopefully still riding their bikes). ... show more

  • Well built anchor for bikes/motorcycles.
Size: One Size Style: Anchor
I bought this to secure a Honda motorcycle outside on the patio as I do not have a garage or shed. After I mounted this I ran a heavy chain around the front wheel of my bike with a huge padlock. This ground anchor is a beast and VERY secure. The only issue I had was I could not drill through the concrete with a standard drill. I bought a Skil hammer drill on Amazon and the supplied masonry bit went through the concrete easily. So if you buy this..use a hammer drill. ... show more

  • Perfect for my needs
Size: One Size Style: Anchor
This baby will not come out if installed properly. Using this to attach to chain to hold my generator during peer outages. They give you the drill bit but not one for a pilot hole. Instructions are good, well detailed and make the installation easy. I anchored into concrete and used an sds plus ryobi drill, 18v and it went through the concrete like butter. The anchors are fine. Would use again if needed. Believe me, it's not coming out of the concrete. ... show more

  • Included parts and drill bit do not work at all!!
Size: One Size Style: Anchor
I got my product a week or two ago and it looked great, packaging was great, all parts and pieces were included. I thought it was going to go like clockwork and then I began the install after I watched the video again. The drill bit was black so no way to mark the 2.75” on the bit. Not a big deal but that was the first issue. They mention a hammer drill in the video and let me tell you, you better have one!!! A cordless drill barely broke the surface, the corded drill did not do any better. I didn’t have a hammer drill so I went to Home Depot and rented one, another $65.00 and more time to go get the drill and then go back and drop the drill back off. So, I get the first hole drilled….. they do not mention in the video to blow out the remaining dust from the hole (you absolutely should before you hammer the anchor into the hole). I didn’t remove the dust of course. The first anchor goes in and falls to pieces as I hammer it in. I dig that one out of the hole, put a second one in the hole but now the dust has filled up the threads and the bolt will not tighten. Not to mention now I am down to two wedge anchors and figure I can get away with two….Nope.!.!.!. So, I am back to Home Depot for epoxy to anchor the bolts in the holes….. another $25.00 and time and hassle… I did get to return the hammer drill though! That is a positive. Go back home, blow out the holes with compressed air again and clean them out. Put the epoxy in the holes and set the entire anchor with bolts and all. Epoxy should be fully cured in 24 hours so we will see then if it worked and I can finish the install.!.!.!. The cost of this anchor is now close to 200.00. I am thinking there is a better route :-( ... show more
