We had a window replaced and the repairman must have added some black grease to our carpet. I read a few reviews on this product and watched a video where a lady who explained how to use it. I followed her instructions, sprayed enough on the carpet so that it was fairly wet. Waited 3 or 4 minutes. I used disposable (almost) cloth napkins. I did not rub the spot, I just dabbed it, frequently turning the cloth so that only clean cloth touched the spot. The grease kept coming up on the cloth. When my cloth was coming up clean, i stopped and let it dry. The next day, a very small amount of grease reappeared. I repeated the process that day and it is completely gone. This stuff is very effective at breaking up really ground in stubborn soil deposits in carpet. However by the time I got through 3/4 of the bottle the spray mechanism failed and wouldn't work again! So take your chances.
