You know you’re either getting older or upping your cooking game when you get your hands on great kitchen knives!! These knives are super sturdy and VERY sharp so be very careful! I love that there are multiple knives for different uses in this set! The cleaver works great for root vegetables while the chefs knife works well on boneless meats. These knives cut through things like it’s butter! They are easy to clean - just make sure you hand wash AND dry them immediately to keep them from rusting. These things were what I experienced with the item and I didn’t feel it was worth losing a star over due to how great the knives are: the care card inside is poorly translated. For instance it said “please choose different knives” when it means to pick the proper knife for the job you’re using it for ie don’t use the bread knife to mince herbs. There were a couple more of those instances on the care card but I can’t remember them, but like I said the care card isn’t going to change how the knives function - especially if you’re used to using kitchen knives. The box the knives are in has cut outs and tip covers for the knives and the box itself is a sturdy box so I may keep them in that when not in use or at least until I can figure out a display type storage solution- my complaint with this is that mine was a jumbled mess when I opened the he box. The knives weren’t in their cutouts and the tip covers were strung about the box. This didn’t seem to damage my set. Use caution when opening the boxes as these knives are very sharp! Again I didn’t feel these “faults” were enough to discount a star as they didn’t affect the functionality of the knives just thought it was worth mentioning.

I’ve been using this knife set for a few weeks now and it has completely changed the way I cook. The set comes with five essential knives, and each one feels purpose-built for its specific task. I like these knives a lot. They feel like real, heavy-duty kitchen tools and not the kind of cheap set you’d grab at a big box store. Definitely a step up from something like a standard KitchenAid set. They’re sharp, well-balanced, and the wood handles feel solid in your hand. You can tell they’re built to last. Presentation is also nice if you’re giving them as a gift. Only reason I’m not giving 5 stars is just because I haven’t used them long enough to judge long-term durability, but so far they’ve been great.

For starters, this set of kitchen knives is absolutely beautiful. The forged high carbon steel blades transitions to a sleek, smooth, highly polished wood handle. The different types of knives give you great variety of lengths and shapes to do all of you kitchen cutting needs—slicing, mincing, dicing and chopping. For me, I am really happy to have a matching set that all goes together. Each knife is extremely sharp. These knives are made with Japanese high carbon steel. I know a bit about knives, and the Japanese knives are of top quality—this steel being one aspect of what makes them so durable. Besides beautiful, these knives simply feel wonderful in your hand. They are well-balanced, easy to grip, and there is a substantial weight to them. Being balanced in your hand, the they feel light, but when that blade sinks into the item that is being cut, the weight of the knife and the sharpens of the blades do the work. Cutting vegetables is truly a breeze with these knives. These knives are for me, but they would make a great gift for anybody who loves to cook in their own kitchen. I’d say these knives are appropriate for the average kitchen user, including amateurs, yet they are appropriate for great cooks and chefs as well. These are truly a great modern design, made from top quality materials. At $20/knife, and being of this top quality makes these knives a truly great value.
