Great unit, effectively and quickly cools either a large studio or small one-bedroom apartment! I had my building’s handyman install it, it’s QUITE heavy, but it only took him about 20 minutes. It’s a bit noisy so if it’s on and you’re watching tv, you’ll have to raise the volume or listen with wireless headphones. Comes with a remote control for easy temperature management, however, the remote has no backlight on it so if you’re in the dark you’ll need to turn on a light to use it. I’d advise to purchase some type of 3M product to align and hold the cord neatly under the unit so it doesn’t show. It’s pricey but we’ll worth the money! (PS - Please excuse the paint job, I haven’t finished with the trim around my walls yet, lol 🙏🏻😊🙏🏻) ... show more

    • Great unit for a hvac blower unit

It was damaged some on delivery. Back left corner was smashed in where may have been dropped on that corner. The foam packaging was all broken up. It was just frame corner where no working parts are. We purchased the exterior sleeve and all installed ok with some struggle due to the denting. I like the whole package and kit. It runs good so far. Make sure to lay flat 24 hour before running it because oil in compressor needs to settle. It's not as loud as the unit this replaced. Any fan unit will make noise unless you want to sit on a block of ice to cool off this is best option. We installed it in our Sun room 300 square ft all glass windows and cools down fast. It's a good unit and best value for hard earned cash $$$. Tried the heat during morning coolness and it is really fast and quiet. The AC is louder than the heat feature but I set the fan speed to low and it's better. Both features work well and the entire package is professionally done. 4/21/2019 Add, contacted the seller CompactAppliance about the damage on delivery and all they asked me to do is send them pictures then they discounted the product after they saw it. I also had home security camera video of the delivery. They were very fast to respond and appreciated me letting them know about the issue. 4/12/2020 Unit works great, there is some noise from the adjustable front vent as it vibrates when running. I put a pad stuffed under the vent and it seems to have stopped the vibration noise. The maker should look at that and redesign that vent so it does not rattle or vibrate when it is running. ... show more

Installation in my existing sleeve was easy. They provide all the necessary trims and foam to install. The unit is not as quiet as I would like, but still no more noise than my old one. Blows good and cold, we shall see about the heat this winter. I gave it 4 stars because of the remote. Hard to see the control buttons in dim light. It did not work at first till I changed the battery. I have ordered different remote that I hope will be more user friendly. The main reason for purchase was the price for a heat and cool unit. ... show more

Was a little worried about buying a TTW AC via Amazon, but the price was SOOO much better than the local big box stores we decided to give it a try. The unit arrived in about 4 days. It took my wife and I about 3 hours to figure out the best way to install the included foam seals in the existing sleeve to make this thing fit. Once we plugged it in it turned on and within 30 minutes our exercise room was cool again. Relatively simple to install. Very nicely priced. Simple to operate and it works well. What's not to like? My guess is the comments about it being noisy came from folks who didn't take full advantage of the styrofoam centering blocks and foam padding. I have no complaints. ... show more

I did not see a previous review from another purchaser about the compressor noise until today.. Wish I had! The compressor noise inside the room it’s cooling is awful.. I have a guest house on my property (420 sq ft) The noise outside is normal. Inside the building sounds like an industrial machine running. However the cooling power of this unit is unreal. You can set it at 72 and it is beyond comfortable. I just received it last week. I’m investigating a ‘compressor sound cover’ but at this point I just don’t know. I slept through hurricane hugo.     • Keeps my 12x12 warm and cool when needed

I think this unit is great. I have a 12x12 office space. This cooled it off fast this summer (around 90's in my area) and kept it cool. Now that it is winter and we are already just below freezing it still keeps the space warm. It's a few degrees below the actual setting, but 67 degrees inside while it is 30 degrees outside is warm enough for me. I do have an extra space heater on stand-by just in case, but haven't needed it yet. Note that the space is fully insulated. Best of all I have it hooked up to a smart switch (Aeotec Heavy Duty Smart Switch) and I can power it off all night (or for a few days) and when I power it back on with the smart switch it returns to the exact same settings which is perfect for my use. I can warm up (or cool off) the space before I arrive. ... show more

    • Exactly what I wanted!

The unit arrived to me even faster than the estimate. Since I made sure to measure & read the size of the unit, it was a perfect replacement for my old & broken unit. Because it was a replacement, I already had the sleeve in place, along with the correct electrical outlet so just had to pull out the old unit and slide the new one in-probably took about 10 minutes, including the time to take out of the packaging. If it were a first time install, it would take much longer and for me, would have required a good carpenter & electrician. Because of it's weight of something like 80lbs, I did require the assistance of a friend to help me lift out the old and put in the new but everything went smoothly. It has only been installed for a few days and outdoor temperatures have been fairly mild, so I haven't really had a chance to experience how well it works but it has done great when I have experimented with the cooling & heating. Right now, I feel like I have gotten a good unit that will keep my sun-room comfortable for many years. ... show more
