So many of the "low cost" tripods had horror stories about the mount falling off and the camera falling to the ground. I did not want that. This tripod, while having lots of plastic parts seems to be built sturdy enough to prevent that problem (so far)... I will update my review if this changes. For the most part this was a great decision which I do not regret. The tripod is plenty stable and is well constructed. Avoid the nock-off Chinese junk. The Tripod is lightweight and easy to use, I use it for my Kodak camera and it works great for taking photos. The carrier case makes it easy to tote around and keep the nice paint job looking nice.

I am surprised by how well put together this Kodak tripod is, given that I had not anticipated stumbling upon a Kodak product at all. It is very well made, the weight is just right for the aluminum sleekly crafted. All the knobs and levers work smoothly and with indoor use, it performs brilliantly. Nothing too fancy nor too shabby, this is a wonderful tripod for my beginner photography use. Hell, I think it works wonderfully for any level of use just the way it is. ... show more

I purchased a cheaper stand in Best Buy. Was flimsy, and broke on the first try. I read the reviews on this unit. I was very surprised and pleased once I opened it. Its light, but it is sturdy. I am using it as a stand for my Bose T8S Mixer.

I read that super cheap tripods would not hold a spotting scope or camera still on a windy day so I ordered this one. I want to use it a the beach to observe ships that enter and leave Wilmington NC through the shipping channel. The beach is almost always windy. Seems up to the task.

I am in love with this tripod. It is super stable. The phone attachment was easy to add. There is even a leveler. I can't wait to do my Facebook live at church tomorrow. The height adjustor makes this tripod worth the money.
