  • Easy Enough for an 89 Year Old To Use
Style: Photo Printer Only
This was a Christmas gift for my 89 year old mom because she wanted to be able to print photos off her iphone so that she can paint them. It took me two times showing her how to use it and she can easily select her photos and print away. The quality of the photos is beautiful.

  • Love it
Style: Photo Printer Only
Even though I saw it for $15 less elsewhere, I love the product. Upset that I had to pay more money for it, but I’m happy with the product.

  • Great Printer for Quick Prints
Style: Photo Printer Only
This printer prints great 4x6 prints and is easy to use. Obviously the quality is only as good as the device taking the picture, but the print quality matches the photo. I have an iphone 10 which takes pretty good pictures and the quality of the print looked just as good as the photo on my screen. It is very easy to use and the app is very user friendly if you would like to use it via blue tooth versus plugging in your device. I purchased this printer for business. Every year we host a company Christmas Party in which employees bring their children to see Santa. We take a family photo with Santa and give them the keepsake photo to take with them. This printer is not designed for the high output we were asking it to do. If you print too many pictures one right after the other, it will overheat. I still think this printer is a good overall purchase, we corrected this issue for our event by purchasing a second unit and switching between the two for printing. I asked my husband for this printer for Christmas so I could have one for personal use. ... show more

  • So pleased
Style: Photo Printer Only
I bought this to do a Santa picture event; I was just so happy with the app, which is funny bc those were the only bad reviews I seen. I don't think the app is confusing at all, it's pretty awesome. You can edit pics, add frames, backgrounds, themes, etc. They even had holiday frames which made it so perfect for what I bought it for. My test pic, the quality is so good I can see every blade of grass and hair on my pig lol. My only issue...the ink is all out of stock and literally every where 😭 ... show more

  • Doesn't do what YOU (or I) need it to.
Style: Photo Printer Only
Like me, you probably bought this for the convenience of : 1: Take a picture on your phone. 2: Inside the "gallery" or "photo viewer" of your particular phone, whatever kind of phone you have, use the "PRINT" feature that all phones made in the last decade or so come with. Well, you can't. That's not the way this printer works. The printer isn't a device on your home network. You have to hook this printer directly to your phones wifi, which means kicking your phone OFF your home network. So, if you can't get the printer to connect to your phones wifi, because of whatever baloney reason the printer doesn't want to, you have to connect it via the DOCK or a USB cable. Then it wants a FIRMARE update... cool. Then, while docked and updated, there's no actual "print" button, just an image of a printer. Then it prints... if it can find the paper, which took me 5 minutes of begging it to see the stack of paper I loaded, which it finally did. And then it printed a really nice picture of the family dog covered in sand like I assumed it would do within about 30 seconds of it coming out of the box. Also, the "editing" software within the app is terrible. It seems innocuous, but the cropping function, which is the only real thing you REALLY NEED TO WORK, doesn't. It'll take you five or six attempts at "cropping" to get the actual part of the pic you want printed to be centered. Then you hope that now that you've printed something, maybe the wifi part will work... NOPE. The printer is connected to my phones WIFI, and the APP will not find the printer. Just flat refuses. So then you hook it up via USB cable, which it finds instantly and prints another really good pic of a day at the beach. So there's hope, but it doesn't include the main reason I bought the thing, which is easy-peasy wifi printing... at that, it completely fails. If I can't figure it out in the next 20 minutes or so, it's going back in the box and straight back to Amazon and I'm gonna take the time to actually email Kodak customer service and tell them that this is the second time they've let me down (first was when they canned their picture frame servers with no way to pull any of the photos off the server or off the frame... and now a wifi printer that isnt'. 1 star because it's printed two decent pics, but the interface is bad, the cropping function is terrible, and the wifi doesn't work at all, let alone the way you thought it would when you bought it. ... show more

  • The print app is garbage (usb)
Style: Photo Printer Only
I have had a Sony dye-sub printer, and then a Canon Selphy dye-sub printer, and now I have this Kodak 480W dye-sub printer. The Selphy just quit because of a mechanical issue where a plastic gear used to advance the film came unstuck from its motor... which should never happen. Where I know that the Selphy was mechanically identical to the Sony, I'm hoping that the Kodak is not. Picture quality is excellent. And there's really no substitute IMO for the dye-sub process in terms of the longevity of the prints. I'm helping my wife archive and preserve family photos almost 100 years old, and dye-sub will produce prints that should be good for many decades to come. I use a scanner, dump to USB, and offload to the dock. And here's where the Kodak Photo Printer (Android) app well and truly sucks. The app doesn't always find the printer. It will not always recognize the USB if the USB is inserted after the app is running. The app can crash or hang doing the thumbnails. The USB cannot be removed and then re-inserted, or the app will no longer recognize it. Sometimes the app will hang reading a known good image file. You have to evolve a whole ritual around printing jpegs off a USB. I code for a living and I can say that if software goes out the door and performs like this, it's only because it was either never tested or it was tested by folks that shouldn't be doing testing. As a consumer I can say that hey maybe this printer does good stuff but it's too damned hard to get it to do it. ... show more
