At the end of the day these are excellent knifes. Heavy enough to feel sturdy, beautiful blade design, and they sharpen up wonderfully. Ok, now for the negatives which aren't huge but still worth noting: 1. the block is a beautiful rich brown wood. The knife handles are gray wood. These colors do not match. At all. For my eye, its bizarre and to some extent it ruins our kitchen. Once they're out of the block and at the dining table, all is good again. 2. At least one of our steak knives has developed a rattle in the handle, implying the rivets are coming loose. We've owned these knives for about 3 months and have used each steak knife about 5 times over those 3 months. So now I have quality concerns. Still, they're worthy of 4 stars. The knives are large, block is about 1.5ft tall but it's not very wide so it's nice that it doesn't take up a lot of real estate on the kitchen counter. As I mentioned in the title, the knives are very sharp, I've been using them for over a month and still just as sharp as when I first got them. My biggest gripe with them is that I feel like the larger knives (not the steak knives) fit a little odd in my hand due to me having small hands. I can't hold that against Ailiuki though. The handles feel very solid with the metal, really don't think these knives will ever give me a problem with becoming loose on the handle. Very satisfied with my purchase. Would recommend it to a friend. Great purchase for a new homeowner starting out with a new kitchen ... show more
