The media could not be loaded. OK, I bought this set for a gift but I already had a set and was shocked at the quality of knives I got for my money. This makes a great gift since me and the wife start buying gifts all through the year and this is one of those things everybody can use and it looks a lot more expensive than it is and compared to other knife sets we have bought in past years it is amazing the level of quality you get for the money in this set. The edges are sharp, the quality of the metal is superb and the variety means you have a knife for almost any situation so all that adds up to a 5 Star rating from me. Great value for $. I was a bit hesitant bc price was so low but have been very happy with this purchase. Bought Oct 2020 and waited 4 mo. to review. Knife sharpener is super and I use it for my other knives as well. This set is on the thin side but some might think that's a plus. Only issue I have is with the Santoku knife. When I'm slicing potatoes, the knife sticks to the potato and when I move to the next slice the knife kicks up and I inevitably end up getting a small cut on one or two fingers on my opposite hand. Maybe that's why those specialty knives have "Large holes that create air pockets to prevent food from sticking to the blade." Finally got smart and use one of the narrow utility knives when cutting potatoes. I wash by hand and dry immediately. ... show more

The block was a darker wood than pictured but the package arrived on time and each knife was individually wrapped, sleeved, and had a plastic thing covering the tip so I neither got poked nor cut and it did not have damage to the blades. Each knife was labeled so I knew what it was and the book it came with even suggested what to use each knife for if you are not familiar with what different knives are used for. They looked a bit dusty and needed a wash but overall I was very impressed and my teenager was thoroughly impressed by the name Emojoy on them for whatever reason. Excellent buy. ... show more
