I got this knife set to replace my old set that's older than I'd care to admit, lol. This is a large set that has 16 total pieces, including knife block with built in blade sharpener. Sturdy & durable. The handles have the appearance of wood but are a silicone material. Comfortable to hold & won’t slide around in your hand. Love the addition of the peeler & bottle opener, although they don’t fit into the block. How adorable that the bottle opener looks like a mini wine bottle 😄. They’re quality blades & are very sharp. Maybe not as sharp as my brand name knives, but sharper than the cheapest basic set. The blade sharpener works pretty well, as it did noticeably sharpen a few of my old steak knives. Best of all, they’re dishwasher safe for easy cleaning. Overall, it’s a great set. Would make an excellent housewarming or wedding gift. ... show more

    • Decent knives Block smells like spray paint.

I was excited to get this knife set. When I opened the bag I immediately smelled spray paint fumes. Not a good sign I thought. I set the block outside to air out and washed the knives. The next day it was better. I looked the knives over and I first checked out the fork and was impressed the metal went all the to the end of the handle which gave me high hopes. Quickly dashed high hopes im afraid. The rest of the knives are pretty cheaply made. But…they seem decent enough. The sharpness is adequate and it did include a cheap sharpening tool. My only gripe so far is that it’s not angled so it doesn’t fit anywhere in our kitchen where we can get the knives out without tilting the block. Not really their fault. I should have gotten a different version. ... show more

This is a nice set of knives. I really like the unique look. It's sharp right out of the box and feels comfortable in the hands. However, the included scissors are on the cheaper side and the meat fork has a different style handle so it doesn't match the knives and it seems out of place. The block has some weight to it so it stays in place. The knives stick straight out of the block instead of at an angle like other sets. I don't mind it though. I've had many sets of knives and these seem to be on the mid to lower end. But then again, you get what you pay for and the nicer sets are way more expensive. ... show more

These knives are worth the money. They are really sharp and the set also comes with a bottle opener, peeler and scissors. They have a beautiful black design on the blade and resin handles. The storage block is wooden. I've been using them for a few weeks and they still haven't lost their sharpness. They haven't rusted either (but I do dry them with a towel before storing them). ... show more

The Qinwindeer Knife Block Set with Sharpener is a decent lower-to-moderate quality knife set, more consistent with sets I've seen in the $30-$40 price range. They are somewhat attractive with the dimpled black knife backs and wooden looking handles. The plastic handles are comfortable enough and the blades are sharp out of the box although there are notable burrs on the serrated knives. I'm not real crazy about the ferruled blade shafts and question how long they will hold up. The steel is a lower quality and I expect that they will need to be sharpened fairly often to keep a consistent edge. It's nice that a sharpener was included as it will be needed. I'm a bit confused as to why the manufacturer didn't supply a meat fork with the same handle as the knives; the one provided looks like it belongs in a different set. Probably the nicest quality part is the knife block with its finished edges and clean finish. I did need to air the block out as a strong stain odor was present when I unpacked it. I wish the company had not placed their name on the block though but at least the letters are crisp. ... show more

bought these as a Christmas gift for my oldest daughter who recently moved out on her own. they arrived packed well and all the knives were individually wrapped with plastic point protectors on them. the block is made out of real wood as evidenced by the raw cut on the bottom, and is of a heavy enough weight that it won't scoot or move while you're pulling one of the knives out. I really like the look and the feel of the handles on these. they look like a wood grain but they are a soft touch, matte, siliconized material that make it easy and comfortable to hold. I can't speak for how well they work or wash yet, but appearance wise they look and feel high quality. ... show more

This knife set looks beautiful in the storage box, however, that is as far as the quality appearance goes. The connection from the handle to the knife is questionable on its longevity. I just like the brand name stamped on every piece. This would be a great set for a young couple, moving into their first home and building their kitchen utensils. However, for someone who cooks a lot I do not see this knife set lasting a long time.
