The knifes looked really nice and sharp. However when I received the knifes I was shocked to find that they are very very dull. They have no edge on them. They say the dull knife will cut you before a sharp on will. That saying is true I ended up getting a bad cut because I had to put more pressure on my potato to get the knife to go through I cut myself really good. Doubt it would have happened if it was sharp. Also there is no finish on these knifes so when you wash them it's best if you dry them off right away or they will start rusting. Any moisture and they will rust fast. Over all I'm very disappointed that I have to sharpen every single knife before I can use it or call it a knife ... show more

They are well made and beautiful knives but if youre planning to use them for work on a daily basis I really wouldn't recommend these knives. I work as a deckhand cook on a tug boat and I thought these would be amazing and I'm just annoyed at this point having to do the extra maintenance. Again these knives are well made and look gorgeous but honestly for work I've gone with something I can use quickly clean and store and be done with. ... show more

I purchased this set to sell for a small profit for my charity fund raiser. The knives are beautiful. So beautiful in fact that I decided to keep them for myself. BTW. I sell knives regularly for the charity. Just not this set. Many comments here say that they rusted. Yes they will if you don't know how to care for Damascus steel. You use them. You wash them. You dry them immediately. You oil them. You return them to the swede carrying case. Just a minute or two care for each knife is all that is necessary. The swede will wick away any moisture left after to care for them. Sharpen them if you know how or have them sharpened by a professional. If you do these things they will last longer than you. ... show more
