Description

The NCVT2PKIT from Klein Tools includes a dual-range, non-contact voltage tester as well as a receptacle tester. The NCVT-2P is a non-contact voltage tester that detects 12 to 1000V AC and indicates the presence of voltage in cables, cords, circuit breakers, light fixtures, switches, outlets and wires as well as AC voltage in doorbells, thermostats, low voltage lighting and irrigation systems. Includes both visual and audible signals. The receptacle tester will troubleshoot standard 120V AC grounded outlets.

I'm overall quite happy with the Klein Tools, but I wanted to comment more specifically on the RT105 outlet tester—it's a reliable and handy tool. However, the LED lights are quite dim, which makes it difficult to read in bright outdoor conditions. You really have to cup the device and get up close to see the status lights clearly. For indoor use, it's fantastic, but just be aware of this limitation if you plan on using it outside. ... show more

This is my second Non-Contact Voltage Tester and there is no comparison between the two. The first worked well but was a real challenge to change batteries. This one on the other hand is easy to change batteries helping to insure you remove the batteries when it is not being used so they don't leak. I think it is also easier to operate but not sure because I tossed the other for no longer working after the batteries leaked. The other I purchased because of the brand name thinking it had to be the best. This time I purchased the product because of design and found to my surprise it was so much superior. You also get the receptacle checker with the voltage checker and that is a nice bonus. ... show more
