This tape measure will get it done. It's a 16 footer and has an easy slide and break to lock it in place. Has about 10 ft of extended reach before it collapses . If you are looking for a smaller tape measure that fits nicely in the palm of your hand, than look no further .

Was looking for a tape to replace my fat max that took one too many falls and found this Klein after much searching. For some reason this model only had three reviews, but it had the right features and the other Klein models got pretty good reviews so I took a chance. Pros: markings on both sides of the tape - this is very helpful for overhead measurements where you need the stand out to reach and still read the tape from below. Stand out - 13’ is the listed distance I didn’t get that but for a tape this compact it’s good. Blade brake button under your finger is great for quick reads and keeping the hook from slamming on retrieve. Easy blade lock - way better than my old fat max had. Case adds exactly 3” for inside measurement- not 3-1/4 or some other oddball amount so it’s easy to add. Case stands on its back not just the bottom- makes it easy to do vertical measurements hands free when used with the blade lock. Lighter and more compact than my old max. Rubber over molding seems to protect it well. 4 rivet auto adjusting blade hook. Blade hook has tabs above the blade too so you can hook out either side easily. Blade coating seems to protect well. Cons: only thing I don’t like is I’m right handed and if you pull the tape with your left so you can mark with your right, the numbers are upside down, but that’s a minor detail. ... show more

I bought this tape because another reviewer mentioned the case of this tape measure is exactly 3 inches wide. This allows quick inside measurements by simply adding 3 inches to whatever the tape reads. No odd fractions to deal with e.g plus 2 7/8, 3 1/4 etc. Perfect addition to my job where precise inside measures are a must. Just bought a second one. ... show more

I have both 16’ versions. (Well this and the double butterfly magnetic 16 fabric covered one. The nice one has the bending angles on the bottom side, this one does not. The tip at the end is traditional and a bit cheap. It’s not coated with fabric if I recall correctly like the other versions are and its housing seems cheaper and thinner of plastic. Which is probably by design for sure but basically a bare bones tape measure that extends a bit farther than most but somehow falls short of its sister with the fabric coating. I use this one on a light weight pouch meant to stay light weight. The pouch I keep that’s bigger for electric keeps the better and heavier tape while my data comm pouch takes this one (to help it stay lightweight). I got tired of lugging around 25’-30’ tape measures when 90% of the time the furthest I needed to measure was 8’. So I wanted to get a lighter more practical tape and this one is perfect. This thing is sweet. Broke my old tape doing initial measurements for an afternoon project. Ordered this and as soon as I pulled it out I think I used every feature this has on it. I was measuring from all different directions and this made it super easy. The 3" width of this should absolutely 100% be highlighted because it makes inside measurements such a breeze. Having the double sided tape is totally underrated and both sides are super easy to read. Plus the hooks on the end made it easy to grab onto grommets where I was measuring from. The brake is nice and the lock is effective. I haven't had it long enough to speak on its durability but it feels just as durable as any tape measure I've held. Project complete. This is will make any weekend warrior feel like a pro. Only thing it's missing is a laser with digital readout but that's a whole different product. Lol ... show more
