WOW! I have been looking for a way to get nice curls without using heat all the time. I was really skeptical because this looked like an option that took a lot of practice. If you want to look like the models while wearing the curler, it will take work, but the results are not dependent upon how tidy it looks when you put it on. I can't believe I was successful the first time. Pointers/tips/thoughts: 1. I am 51, which means my hair is dry. It's long, but because it's in a ponytail for working out or in a hat sometimes, and because I color it and heat it, I have a lot of breakage. So, I wrapped all of those shorter top strands first and secured them mid-way up the curling rod with my own silk pony tail holders. After that I wrapped the rest. 2. You only need the one rod, just as the kit comes. My hair is just below my shoulders when straight and there was plenty of rod left for longer hair. That said, a second kit could help to simply be able to wrap those shorter strands if you have the same problem I do. 3. Wrap your hair tightly. You secure the rod with a clip at the top of your head for wrapping (and then take it off), so a more narrow clip is better for getting that tight wrap. 4. There's no other need or metric for perfection in the wrap. It's idiot/klutz proof. I am the living example. 5. I put it in my dry hair before bed, but misted it lightly while doing the other things I needed to do before going to sleep. I think this was a good idea but probably isn't mandatory given how light my mist was. 6. I sleep on a bamboo pillowcase and I strongly believe that the results will be better on bamboo or silk. So while you are buying this product, which you really should if you are at all considering it, I would say also find a bamboo or silk pillow case. It's better for your hair in general and better for your skin too (I have one dedicated just for travel that I bring with me everywhere). But most importantly, you want to have a pillowcase that will not interfere with the results of the curler. 7. I think results would even be better with clean hair. Mine was on day 3 and when I put them in. I combed my hair, but it was otherwise looking terrible. Finally, 8. It was SO comfortable I forgot immediately that I had it on. There was zero interference in my sleep (sleep tracker confirms this statement). Pic of me right out of bed. I literally got up, put on my run clothes, took off the curlers, had a moment of amazement, and right away snapped the one pic. No fussing at all. I can't even imagine what it will look like when I have more experience. This was my first try. If this is bed head I look forward to many more mornings!!!!! (just bummed the first thing I had to do today was go for a run, and it rained- lol) ... show more

I was pleasantly surprised at how well this works! It is easy to put in and my daughter was able to sleep in it overnight and it stayed in...even her curtain bangs stayed put. She said it wasn't uncomfortable at all. It's worked well when she leaves her "twist" hair towel on for about 20-30 minutes after her shower. Then, we wrap it before bed, which takes maybe 3-5 minutes, and she sleeps in it for around 9-10 hours. She leaves it on when getting ready for school. Make sure when removing that you pull the roller straight up. I would use a smoothing serum and run fingers through, but she likes the corkscrew curls. I recommend sleeping on a satin pillowcase. The best part? It stays all day, even in Florida humidity. She usually runs hot and sweats a bit during PE & recess (all outside). It relaxes a bit throughout the day, but still looks great when she gets home. It also looked nice the second day, but was more loose waves than curls. Again, sleeping on a satin pillowcase helps maintain overnight. We bought two more after the first time we used this one, one for me and one for my older daughter. I will try to remember to update once I use it on my older daughter's long, thicker hair. ... show more

I was skeptical how the curls would turn out on my hair. So glad I purchased! This picture is from the day after. The curls were more pronounced the entire day after I slept with the product in. I thought it was comfortable to sleep in for the most part. I used on half blow dried hair, applied smoothing crème and a little mousse. I am not good at doing my hair whatsoever, I'm more of a makeup person, so I was excited to try these and see if I could actually get nice curls without a curling iron, since I find them so difficult to use. This surprised me in the best way! I have stick straight hair. I have hair that falls within an hour of using a heated hair curler even with product and high heat. I set this in my hair overnight and wake up to the perfect ringlet curls. As they start to relax it turns into the perfect relaxed big curls, then waves by the end of the 8-hour work day. Don't get me wrong, these satin hair curlers are really nice and do give you a curl. There is somewhat of a learning curve to using them, and if after more weekend practice I find the curls looking better then I'll give it a better review. It's good for what it is, but the curls for me sometimes come out a little messy and so for that reason it's a 4 and not a 5 for me, however that may be user error. The curls are also not the best held, and don't always come out the way i desire. Again, may just be user error, and if it improves after more practice I'll update my review :) ... show more
