I used styling mousse on about 80-90% dry hair and brushed to make sure each section was smooth before wrapping. The first time I used it I didn’t sleep on it, this was the result after 5ish hrs! The last time I used the heatless curler I slept on it, and then applied a little heat with the blow dryer on warm. I think I also used too much mousse so the curls weren’t as soft and took a little extra finagling to style. It was surprisingly comfortable to sleep in with only a few hairs being pulled from time to time. The tiny bit of discomfort is worth it to me so I don’t have to curl my hair for hours. I bought one of these for an easy heatless curl solution that was easy to sleep on. I have one of those octocurl things, and found this to be much better! It worked so well that I told my mom and my sister about it, and my sister is using hers almost every day now. It’s a great tool I’d recommend for any woman to keep in their back pocket - just ridiculously easy and doesn’t take any time at all to produce an amazing look. Just be aware of how you’re wrapping your hair, and how tightly. The first photo is when I first took it out, you can see how it decreased the length of my hair by half, it was so springy! I was skeptical how the curls would turn out on my hair. So glad I purchased! This picture is from the day after. The curls were more pronounced the entire day after I slept with the product in. I thought it was comfortable to sleep in for the most part. I used on half blow dried hair, applied smoothing crème and a little mousse. I did struggle for a while trying to separate my hair to wrap around, and keep it tight. I think with some practice it won’t take me long and hope to be faster next time I use. ... show more

I was a bit skeptical that this would really do much for my hair, but thought for the price it was worth a shot. I showered Wednesday evening, let my hair dry about halfway, then used the curler as directed (took care to wrap strands around it tightly and secure it at the ends, then tucked the ends up and twisted them together to stay put). Wore it through the night and took it down in the morning. Holy ringlets!!! I actually pulled them out a little bit before taking the review picture. They had loosened up by 5:00 but were still looking good, and were about the same by 9:30 that night, even after running in through a bit of rain. As someone who is ponytail or down and straight, It takes a time or two to figure out the best way to use it but this is what works for me: while hair is damp, I use LolaVie glossing detangler mid to ends, comb it out( with unbrush) and use It's a 10 Miracle blowdry volumizer (root to tip), then mouse ( whatever I have on hand) and comb through again before rolling it - after it is rolled I use hairspray and It's a 10 Coily Miracle leave-in Product spray, in the morning I remove the curling set and shake it out and do a light squeezing in mid hair to ends with Ouai hair oil. And for whatever reason (it may be in my own head) the rainbow pink set works better for me that the gray/black one. this works wonders. i’ve seen many video saying you need a certain kind of heatless curler but this does the job perfectly. it is a little uncomfortable to sleep with but that is expected and if your used to having straight ends this will curl the ends so you’d have to be careful where you stop wrapping your hair. i used this once a week to give me curls without heat and then do touch ups the next day without washing my hair since my hair doesn’t hold curl well. the product doesn’t hold the curl as long as a curling iron would but it last thru the day just fine ... show more

Don't get me wrong, these satin hair curlers are really nice and do give you a curl. There is somewhat of a learning curve to using them, and if after more weekend practice I find the curls looking better then I'll give it a better review. It's good for what it is, but the curls for me sometimes come out a little messy and so for that reason it's a 4 and not a 5 for me, however that may be user error. The curls are also not the best held, and don't always come out the way i desire. Again, may just be user error, and if it improves after more practice I'll update my review :) ... show more
