  • Top best mixer on the American market
Color: Pistachio
I can't say enough about this machine. My wife makes home made bread, so this machine is running all the time. We have owned it for about six months now and my wife couldn't be happier. I did toss the plastic accessories, and replaced them for stainless steel ones. For a country that complains about plastic contamination they sure import a lot of it. You can't buy a plastic straw, but all the new straws are (you guessed it) wrapped in plastic. ... show more

  • I Cannot Recommend this Mixer
Color: Contour Silver
I purchased this KitchenAid 7-quart mixer, in contour silver, at a sale price of $549. It stopped working about 3 minutes into mixing icing, only the second time I used it. Just STOPPED. I followed all of the troubleshooting guidelines, however, it still did not work. I checked my breaker, plugged it into different outlets, kept it unplugged for 30 minutes….all to no avail. There was no smell when it stopped. It wasn’t warm. I was just flabbergasted when it “quit”. I was so excited to be able to finally get this mixer. I had dreamed of having one for at least 20 years. I didn’t even get to use it for the tough jobs so many people brag about! I know this sounds melodramatic, but my dreams were sure shattered. I began the return process through Amazon. I saw an option of returning the defective mixer, and replacing it with another, same make and model. However, Amazon could not fulfill the request (no reason given) after I selected the option, probably because the mixer is no longer on sale. I will say, however, that the return process is seeming relatively easy. Luckily I had kept my box! FedEx will be picking it up at no (further!) cost to me. Packing the mixer back up was a beast of a job, but with my husband’s assistance, we were able to do it. As of right now, I am not sure I am going to order another one. I don’t want to go through that emotional turmoil again. I had been in the middle of making icing for my granddaughter’s birthday cake. Thank goodness my old, trusty Sunbeam Mixmaster got me through the remaining mixing. I did not review the ratings on this model before I purchased it because the KitchenAid (mixers) has always had such an outstanding reputation. I know people who have had their mixers for 25 years and they are still working perfectly. But now that I’ve had an opportunity to review the feedback from others on this particular model, I see that I am not the only one who had problems. It seems there are issues with the durability of the 7 quart mixer in general—many, many with this same exact problem. I’m not sure if it is just the batch that Amazon got or if other retailers have lemons too, but KitchenAid needs to do better. This was a tough disappointment. I was so excited when I received this beautiful mixer that I had dreamed of for so, so long. I can’t recommend a product that failed, therefore, my rating reflects that. This mixer failed during one of the easiest tasks possible for any mixer, let alone one that costs upward of $550. ... show more

  • KitchenAid 7 quart bowl lift stand mixer
Color: Contour Silver
Love this!! I make large batches of sourdough and bagels regularly and this mixer does the job perfectly with no motor strain. Easy to use and clean. The bowl locks in nicely. It’s a lifetime kitchen tool that is well worth the money. Breads, desserts, or dinners are simple to make in this mixer.

  • Two mixers broken within two-three minutes.
Color: Empire Red
Purchased a KitchenAid 7-quart mixer at the sale price of $549 on day one; died two minutes into mixing batter. I did the recommended troubleshooting process, plugged into other outlets, checked the circuit breaker & kept unplugged for a full day. Still did not work. I called KitchenAid, and they were willing to replace it but would take 6-8 weeks. They then offered to refund my money only after they received the mixer. I opted to return to Amazon as it was brand new. I really wanted a mixer for the holidays, so, on a gamble, I ordered a second mixer at full price, $649. With both, I added the Acurion insurance (Acurion refunded me right away). After dropping off the first mixer at UPS, I discovered that Amazon will not release $$ funds $$ until they receive the mixer. I did not know this when purchasing the second mixer. Now I am $1200 on hold on my credit card. Not only are my funds held, but the return is via UPS Ground, a slow boat. This KitchenAid 7-quart mixer must be a bad batch from the KitchenAid for Amazon. Very tough disappointment! I really hoped that the second one would have worked for me. With a 7-quart mixer, I opted to purchase from Amazon to get insurance, and I hoped the 7-quart would be more powerful for batched bread dough and large amounts of cookie batter. I did end up going to Costco for the smaller size 6-quart KitchenAid Mixer, and so far (two days in) it is working fine. ... show more
