Description

Choose from over 20 different colors of the KitchenAid Artisan Series Tilt-Head Stand Mixer for the one that perfectly matches your kitchen design or personality. Easily make your favorite cakes and multiple batches of cookie dough with the 5-quart stainless steel mixing bowl with comfortable handle. With 10 speeds, the standmixer will quickly become your kitchen’s culinary center as you mix, knead and whip ingredients with ease. And for even more versatility, the power hub fits optional attachments from food grinders to pasta makers and more. KitchenAid's Artisan stand mixer is a substantial piece of equipment: 325 watts of mixing power make child's play of creaming butter, kneading dough, and whipping cream. The kid in you will appreciate how quick and easy it is to mix up a batch of cookie dough. This model comes with three attachments: a flat beater for making batter, meat loaf, and all textures in-between; a wire whip for egg whites, mayonnaise, and more air-infused creations; and a hook for mixing and kneading yeast doughs. All three are solidly constructed and easily secured to the beater shaft with a simple twist. This model also includes a pouring shield for guiding ingredients to their proper destination, and the bowl itself locks tight to the base. Standing about 15 inches high, jutting out a foot, and weighing more than a grown woman's bowling ball, this stand mixer isn't the sort of appliance you'll wipe down and put away. Better to find a square foot of free counter space for easy access; besides, this machine is as pretty as it is rugged--you'll want to show it off. --Betsy DanheimFrom the Manufacturer The Artisan mixer's strong 325-watt motor delivers the power to handle the heaviest mixtures, and mix large batches easily. The 5-quart polished stainless steel bowl with ergonomic handle is big enough to handle large batches of heavy mixtures. Its ergonomically designed handle is contoured to fit the hand and makes lifting the bowl more comfortable. Unique Mixing ActionThe beater spins clockwise as the shaft spins counter clockwise; moving the beater to 67 different points around the bowl. This unique mixing action creates a thorough blend of ingredients and eliminates the need to rotate the bowl. Multiple Speeds 10 speeds allow the user to select the right speed for the mixing job; from very high to very slow stir. It's easy to select the precise speed needed for a perfect mix. Versatile Accessories The flat beater, dough hook, and the professional wire whip add to the versatility of the mixer. The flat beater is the ideal accessory for mixing normal to heavy batters. From cake mixes to firm cookie dough, the flat beater mixes quickly and thoroughly. The dough hook mixes and kneads yeast dough, saving both time and the effort of hand-kneading. The wire whip incorporates the maximum amount of air in whipped mixtures for fluffier whipped cream and angel food cakes. All attachments are solidly constructed, and attach easily to the stand mixer. Easy Clean Up The pouring shield fits around the top of the bowl and prevents ingredient splash-out. The chute makes it convenient and easy to add ingredients. The tilt-back mixer head allows for easy access to bowl and beaters. A lock lever holds the mixer head securely in place and the bowl fastens tightly to the base. Optional Attachments Optional attachments (sold separately) complete the package to make cooking a pleasure. From citrus juicer to sausage stuffer, KitchenAid stand mixers can handle just about any job in the kitchen. • 14 years and still going strong!
I bought the 5qt red KitchenAid tilt head mixer in Oct 2011 and it is still going strong in 2025! It gets a real work out from Dec thru Jan every year when I make my Italian Pizzelles. I make over 700 Pizzelle cookies every year for gifts for friends and family Christmas. You use an electric Pizzelle maker that makes only 2 at a time. The batter I use fills the 5qt glass mixing bowl. One batch of batter makes 12 dozen pizzelles - 144 cookies x 5 batches = 720 pizzelles!!! It's a labor of love.❤️ When I bought mine it was advertized as a limited addition special "Candy Apple Red" with a clear glass measuring mixing bowl. Candy Apple Red always has been my favorite car color so I couldn't resist! It doesnt match my kitchen colors but I don't care as it is a beautiful red color. My mother had one with a metal bowl so it took me a while to get used to the glass as I was afraid I might break it, but it is very sturdy. I like having a handle and plan to buy a metal mixing bowl with a handle and a lid so I can make 2 batches of batter as I have family helpers at Christmas. Oh by the way my mothers KitchenAid mixer has out lived my dear mother. I used it until I bought the red one and passed my mother's on to my daughter. I believe hers is an Almond color. Anyway I know these are expensive but they are worth every penny. If you can wait for a sale even better. I haven't tried making pasta, icecream or sausage with it as I don't own any of the special attatchments but may try the pasta maker in the future. ... show more

  • KitchenAid is worth every penny!
Wish I'd gotten one a long time ago. I would normally (always) but a cheaper version of stand mixer. Took a little longer to save the $ but so glad i did. KitchenAid is the only way to go so solid and well made

  • long lasting, reliable and versatile
This is the most heavily used tool in my kitchen besides my tea kettle, I have had mine for over 6 years now and it is still going strong today. It is unbelievably versatile and very heavy duty. Due to it's weight, I thought it was best to find a permanent home for it on my kitchen counter as opposed to putting it away each time; the bonus is that it looks very attractive on the counter due to its iconic look. My friends are always jealous when they see this, most of them end up buying one for themselves! Besides being very useful for making baked goods like cakes, muffins, and breads (and don't forget icing!), this is fantastic for blending meat! That's right, if you use the flat paddle to blend canned chicken breasts or tuna, you will get the most delicate chicken or tuna salad sandwiches out of it. I also use it to blend ground turkey or ground beef for the smoothest, most consistent meatloaf texture ever. Same thing for hamburger patties- I like to make mine out of ground beef and sausage meat, if you mix it with the flat paddle first you will get a perfect patty that is consistent throughout, and you will get a perfect shape if you use a mold. The best part is, your fingers don't have to get cold from mixing ground meat together. Speaking of ground meat, did you know they make a sausage making extension? You can make your own sausage at home if you are so inclined. Due to the powerful motor, you can buy all kinds of extensions on this so the KitchenAid's uses are not limited to the mixing bowl. I have the pasta making extension and it really does work. You mix the pasta dough in the mixing bowl (or by hand), and you run it through the extruder extension. It comes in several sizes and can make several different shapes. However, ever since I bought the Phillips Pasta Maker, I can't go back to the KitchenAid to make pasta anymore. I love my pasta maker and I have to say the KitchenAid loses out on this. That being said, not everyone has to room nor wants to buy a separate pasta maker- this is a very good replacement tool for making pasta. I have tried the hand crank pasta maker as well, you will never want to go back after using the extruder extension! Some other uses that you might not think- this makes excellent honey butter. I make biscuits using my KitchenAid and the honey butter goes so well with those biscuits! I use 1 cup of honey and 1 cup of butter and it really does make awesome honey butter. You can try and make all kinds of butters (e.g. apple butter using applesauce and butter) with this, and you can even make your own butter if you work cream long enough on this! I do not think it is capable of making nut butters, however...you will need a high powered blender like a blendtec or a decent food processor for that. Make sure you clean it well after every use. The bowl and the mixing tool can be washed in the dishwasher.. I have washed those in the dishwasher for over 6 years, and no rust! I wipe down the machine itself with a wet paper towel if flour or icing sugar gets on it, and it will. Sometimes milk or butter or meat will get on the machine itself during the mixing process, and I use a wet paper towel with dish soup to wipe it down, followed by a plain wet paper towel. Again, I have been doing this for a while and my machine is still as red and vibrant as the day it came out of the box. ... show more

  • Wish I had bought one a lot sooner, it's great.
My old (by almost 30 years) blender, another kind but a good brand, finally gave out. The speed started off in high when it was set on low, a bearing felt like it was coming loose, well, it was really time to get another. I had been wanting this KitchenAid for a long time, but the price kept putting me off getting one sooner. Well, I finally HAD to bite the dust and get one. And WOW, is it a good one. I can see why the cost is high, no plastic construction on this unit, all metal, and the paint job is smooth. It is a quality unit straight out the box. I used it the next day (oh, and had a party coming up 1 day later, so I want to thank Amazon for a quicker delivery than I expected, arrived 2 days early and saved the day), made 3 cakes, if you can believe it, I had bought some special shaped cake pans off Amazon last year (Chicago Metallic Non-Stick Ribbon Loaf Pan and Nordic Ware Platinum Collection Heritage Bundt Pan), and wanted to use them for this party. Using the KitchenAid was a breeze. It took minimal reading of the instructions to see how everything worked, and it worked great. The large paddles for mixing batter do not go all the way out to the bowl to mix the batter, you still have to turn it off a few times to scrape the bowl down, but I don't know of any unit where you wouldn't need to. The bowl locks in with a slight twist, and holds it in place. There is a guard so stuff doesn't fly out, and you can easily pour other stuff in. I haven't used any other attachment yet, but one day. It is a quiet unit, easy to use and also looks so super cool, we keep it on the kitchen counter now, and not on a shelf in the walk-in pantry. Highly recommended. ... show more
