I bought this for my wife to replace a cheap mixer she bought on Amazon from one of those No-name brands, which had burned out its motor on some muffin dough. This thing is very nice. It has plenty of power for thick batter, and a good range of speeds. It always starts up on slow (which is actually slow) and has good incremental steps up to a very fast top speed. The attachments that came with it are high quality and do their job well. It’s pretty quiet for its speed. Ok, I own one of these already and just bought this one for my mom. Even though I own the huge 6 qt. professional Kitchen Aid, I find myself reaching for this guy all the time. The 6 qt. mixer seems like a really good idea until you realize that almost every normal recipe is too small for it. That's where this handy dandy little guy comes in. I use it for everything from whipping eggs for breakfast, whipping cream, creaming butter etc... and it always does the job. What I love: * The style of the beaters. I still remember the old style that used the flattened metal for the beaters. These thin rounded ones are totally where it's at! If you haven't tried this style I highly recommend giving it a spin. * great control over speed, mine has 6 speed settings. * Lots of power for a hand mixer. I've owned cheaper units in the past and let me tell you, there's a HUGE difference! This one is worth the extra $ * Easy to operate, it always ejects the beaters, performs consistently etc... * Great size to just leave out on the counter. Aaaaaand I'm totally jealous her mixer comes with the extra wisk attachment, I didn't get one! My only complaint is that I wish it went one speed higher. I find myself wishing it would whip a little faster at the top end for whipping cream etc... However, don't think it won't do the job. It has always been great for me, it's just personal preference that has probably been formed from years of using stand mixers. If you need to upgrade but can't afford the full on stand mixer, I highly suggest giving this a try. Granted, it won't have the power on the top end for thick batters or bread etc... but for almost everything you'd need, it will do the job and do it well. ... show more

My hand held mixer was on the verge of burning up and needed to be replaced so decided on this mixer. I haven't used this enough to give a fair review, but so far it is working well and is a lot quieter than the old one. The speed controls, which are different than any other mixer I've used, are a little awkward to use but hopefully will get easier with usage. The beaters and whisk don't seem as strong or durable, but time will tell. All in all, the old mixer was a power house compared to this and the controls were easy, the beaters never chipped or flaked and it lasted a long time. It seems like those days are gone for hand held mixers so I need to quit comparing and start adapting. Time will tell! ... show more
