We just got this machine yesterday (10/01/25 and I’m blown away! From the moment I unboxed it, it felt like a premium product. What an amazing piece of kitchen equipment. Love that it cleans itself before use and before shutting off, it also cleans the milk line so you never have to worry about that. Only complaint is I wish the water tank was bigger just do to how much water you go through. Other than that tiny thing, it’s perfect, stop reading reviews and buy it.

Wow, I have had a Phillips 5400, breville barista,nespresso creatista and the breville bambino. All made good espresso but this mama , cased in beautiful stainless far surpasses all of those. The espresso is incredibly delicious, the cappuccino was hot and so good. The milk was perfection. The machine prompts you for all the cleaning, so easy.

Very disappointed. After many years of enjoying being a home barista with fancy Italian double boiler machine, we moved into an apartment with a small kitchen. No room for my coffee bar. My wife is a coffee or americano drinker but doesn’t have the patience for a semi-automatic. So we decided to get a fully automatic. I narrowed the search down to KitchenAid, De’Longhi and Jura. We decided on the KF8 based on favorable reviews and the ability to easily switch beans. After getting the KF8 on my counter, I went through the startup process. It failed with a “filling in progress” message. And never got past that point. I tried all the suggestions on the web with no luck. I then contact KitchenAid support. The support agent was responsive but not very knowledgeable about the machine. She seemed to be reading scripts which did not help. And then putting me on hold to talk to someone that was more knowledgeable. Finally she said they were going to send me a new water tank as that “might” be the problem. She said it would be take 5-7 days. If that didn’t work then I could exchange the machine. I said that it was unacceptable to pay $2,000 for a machine that is dead on arrival and then wait 2 seeks or more before I get a cup of coffee. The least they could to is overnight the part but they declined. I immediately returned it to Amazon where I purchased it. I’m disappointed that a received a defective machine and surprised that KitchenAid has such weak customer support. I will likely now try a De’Longhi or a Jura.

I have tried numerous machines, and this one is the best. Great selection of different coffees, ability to customize/save by person, and the coffee temp is perfect (this was a problem with most machines-the milk comes out lukewarm, which would make the drink on the cool side). Worth every penny!!!

I researched for awhile and chose the K8 because it was fully automatic, was marketed for plant based milk and I didn't want to become a barista. I'm not a coffee snob. I'm content with a simple black coffee, but I really love lattes and finally splurged on this machine. Packaging was great. The heavy unit arrived safe and sound. It was quick and easy to set up. The machine is very quiet when grinding the beans. What the instructions and videos do not mention is how much water ends up in the tray below. I thought it was leaking. A call to customer service was great. They explained there WILL be water ending up in the tray even if you never see it spill out of a cup. (There is a rinse cycle every time you turn on and off the machine.) We could never get the lattes tasting very good. We have several roasters within a short drive so the beans are fresh roasted the day of purchase. The lattes always tasted a bit bitter or chalky no matter what grind setting was used or what brand/flavor of beans was used. Water is from a quality Reverse Osmosis system. I tried 6 different brands of coconut milk with all different fat levels. The coconut milk never foamed. I don't drink HOT coffee. I wait 10-15 minutes for it to cool. I could drink the latte immediately after it finished brewing. If I waited even 5 minutes after brewing, it was too cold. It got to the point where I immediately microwaved the latte for at least 1 minute to heat it up long enough to get into the car and drive away while it was still warm. Even though it was not making lattes very well, I planned on keeping the machine. Less then 1 month of ownership, I started noticing that the output volume levels were different even though I poured it into the same travel size cup every day. And the lattes were tasting worse. I clean the milk system after every latte made and I keep the whole machine clean. Even after performing extra cleaning sessions on the whole machine, the machine started only dispensing about 1 oz of milk instead of 4 oz or 6 oz whether it was a latte or frothed milk setting. Water will flow through the milk frother unit and I have cleaned it with tiny pipe brushes. Customer service was great but the machine is new to them too so they don't have a lot of experience to offer any other suggestions other than send it back for a new one. I am sending it back and may purchase another one in a few months after they work the kinks out of it.
