Kitchenaid is the best! I have a 7 quart very heavy mixer that I could no longer lift and that I also did not have room to leave on my kitchen counter. This one is smaller, lighter weight, and does not take up much counter space. I had to get used to mixing and adding ingredients a little more slowly since the mixing bowl is not as deep as the bigger mixers. The mixer runs very quietly but still gives me enough power to mix up my usual muffins, cakes, and bread recipes. The attachments are smaller to accommodate the smaller bowl. The only downside for some may be that the mixing bowl may not have enough room to mix up a double recipe if that is something you do frequently. I love my kitchen aid artisan mini mixer 3.5 quart and it is just the right size for my apartment and I just got it a few days ago and used it twice so far and both times the food turned out perfectly it is definitely worth the price and I happened to be using the right credit card to get it on a 12 month payment plan which makes it easier to pay for this is my first kitchen aid mixer in my life and I can't believe that I never had one before also bought 3 other items that are made for this one and used them all already hope that this kitchen aid mixer lasts me the rest of my life ... show more

I do wish the Locking Mechanism on the Head was more tactile, and left a more definitive impression of it being locked into place. Got this for myself as a birthday gift. Item was delayed in transit so it took longer than expected to arrive. When I finally tried using it, it wouldn't work. I could not get it to turn on. It didn't look used. It appeared sleek and brand new... The whole ordeal has been extremely upsetting. I originally gave this 1 star because the one I ordered did not work when I plugged it in. Still waiting on my refund. Got a full size one from the local store. It is not a mini unfortunately. There are none of those being sold nearby. Thankfully this 1 works! It's very loud, I'm guessing because it is bigger and stronger? I've made butter and different flavors of curds. I wish i had tried the mini out sooner so I could have had it refunded sooner. I guess when you are the only one gifting yourself on holidays, it gets a little depressing and activities gets pushed off for responsibilities. ... show more

My mother loved this smaller standing mixer. Well-made, attractive, very useful. Warning: it is still quite heavy. If the person who will be using it is elderly or disabled, plan on setting it up on the counter and leaving it. This is not something that you will be putting away after use.
