Am still getting acquainted with this 2018 kindle; it's been years since I'd used the 2014 model so there's another steep learning curve in progress; For many yrs, I'd relied upon the Kindle for PC app until amazon decided Win7 was passé; mine is still good & I like the OS. To prolong the kindle battery charge, the light was essentially turned off. The 2014 didn't have one and I've learned to do without it. Once I learn how to download prior eBk purchases onto this kindle, things will improve. I recommend this model and refurbished devices, in general. Take your time, compare & contrast until you find something you think you can live with.

Easy to use, well supported. Mine last about 10 -15 years. Then usually it’s a battery issue. I use it probably 5 hours a day. I’m able to easily borrow best sellers from my local library that are delivered seamlessly to my kindle. Love that!

For the $50 I spend on this, it's great. Wasn't sure how much I would use one, as I honestly love real books, and didn't want to spend money on a brand new one. This shipped fast, was almost fully charged when arrived. The only two issues I had was a small nick on the screen (hardly noticeable when you are reading) and it takes a second or two after you "click" anything for it to register.

I miss being able to remove read books from the device to the library so that the only items left on the device are those I still want to read. Otherwise I love my Kindle.

I couldn’t even tell it was a refurbished Kindle. It was like new! Fits my need for a night reading friendly device perfectly. Way more gentle on my eyes than my phone.
