I love my new palma!!!!
Color: White
Okay, when it first arrived, I thought about returning because of the ghosting and the text wasn’t clear, but once I turned on the high-resolution mode, everything changed! I love it, and the screen darkness doesn’t really bother me. You can just turn on the screen light so not sure why that’s an issue. Bottom line is a bit yellower than the other part of the screen but that happened with my previous palma 2 as well and it’s not horrible. It’s not a deal breaker for me anyway overall I love my new palma pro 🩷

Good but could be better
Color: White
I love the idea of a phone sized e-reader that fits in my bag and I can take on the go. My issue with the Palma 2 Pro is more with the software. There are other color e-ink devices on the market that have managed to have a better screen without the ghosting issue. For the piece of the device I shouldn’t have to compromise clarity of the pictures for low to no ghosting. I hope that’s a change that can be made with an update. I am considering returning and getting the Palma 2. At this point the color isn’t make it worth the price. Also, the battery life can be better. Turning off the WiFi didn’t help to extend until I put the device in airplane mode. Overall, it’s a decent device but I’m unsure if the price matches the value. And the biggest let down……no IP rating!! All this money and it’s not water resistant. Even low level android phones are water resistant.

A Solid Pocketable Color Companion
Color: Black
I've been a happy Boox user for a while (Note Air 2 since 2022), and I've been waiting for the right pocketable color e-ink device. The Palma 2 Pro fits this perfectly. I briefly tried the Tab Ultra C but returned it, primarily because it felt too fragile. I also agree with a similar point from B. Shamford's review: a full-sized color tablet felt redundant next to my Note Air 2. The Palma 2 Pro, however, is the perfect handheld color companion, not a replacement. So far, it seems like a solid device with a great hardware-software balance. A quick note on the tech: Color e-ink, in simple terms, involves sandwiching multiple layers—a B&W panel, a color panel, a light panel, and protective glass with a matte film or protective plastic. Manufacturers sell various combinations of these layers, and each has their trade-offs (mainly with clarity). Color e-ink is noticeably darker than just B&W. However, the overall technology has gotten good enough that it's very usable, even on the Palma 2 Pro, which includes all the layers. I also want to confirm and clarify a few points from Rajiv's review: Screen Quality: He's right, there is a slight yellowish tint at the very bottom. I find it's noticeable at maximum brightness (level 32). At a normal, default brightness (20), it's a non-issue, and you have to actively look for it. Even at the max brightness, it isn't terrible, and if you adjust the warm light, it blends right in. Stylus Support: Based on other reviews, the Palma 2 Pro uses the USI 2.0 protocol. This means it is not compatible with EMR styluses (like the one for my Note Air 2 and many other e-ink tablets). This isn't a defect, but a known hardware difference to be aware of. Price: It is a bit pricey at $399, but that's not terrible compared to other similar pocketable color e-ink devices with various other features. I agree the pen should have been included at this price, but I'm also not sure how much I'd use it on this form factor anyway. Ultimately, this device is exactly what I wanted: pocketable, durable, and color. As a companion device or even a primary one, it's a great choice.

Awesome little Ereader.
Color: White
Love it. This is my second Palma. I also own the first one. Price is comparable with most devices today. And for what it does, i did not mind the price. It fits great in my pocket or purse. It seems very durable. I like the texture on the back. I like that it has color. I added mobile data threw my carrier so I can download books where ever I am. I have kindle and Kobo on my device which I love, now i just carry one device and have all my books. I have not seen the yellow line people have mentioned. But i dont need to turn brightness up to much. Screen is easy to read from. There was a little learning curve but once i figured out, I have not had a problem since. Battery life seems to be fine. I have not had to keep charging. If you are looking for something that does mobile phone stuff then this may not be for you. I can not say how the pen would work since I passed on it. I have a bad habit of losing them.

Palma Pro is horrible and expensive!!!
Color: White
first palma pro arrived and the dual mic didnt work. I ordered another and the second one came in screen was superdark and more microphone issues. I sent that back and now my third one keeps freezing. When it powers down it gets stuck on power off and I have to hold button down at least a minut for it to boot back up. whatr a shame boox used to be a great product. I have a feeling they shoved this out to market too early and we have to suffer because of it. The THIRD ONE AT LEAST WORKS but THE BATTERY SUCKS. I have charged it twice and battery dies in two days when its not even in use its just sleeping. WOW BOOX DO BETTER!!! I have pretty much half the devices they ever put out and this one is making me not a fan

Not worth it, not a quality product or company
Color: White
Not worth the price tag Slow , crashes often. The power button stopped working after 6 months of light use. Luckily I have their cover case which has the wake / sleep function otherwise this would’ve been useless.

If you’re a fan of the Palma, this one is Fantastic!
Color: White
I love it! I had the first Palma and really liked it. The size, the OS and everything. Finally heard about this one AND it has color? Yes please! I’m a bigger fan of using the Kindle app. It allows real immersive reading (audio book & book) which is what I look for now. It also has a small speaker for your audiobooks so Bluetooth isn’t required. Yes it is pricey but for me it ticks all the boxes I have for an ereader! Edit: Please for the love of everything ADJUST the “BOOX EinkWise” options if it’s too dark or just not to your liking. There’s lots of options. It is not a one size fits all deal. Also I have noticed zero yellowing. I also have no desire to get a stylus or use a sim. This has replaced 2 kindles and and iPad mini. I love ereaders and this one really fits all my needs. If you’ve use a Palma and liked it, then you already know your way around this one.
