  • A Surprisingly Useful Low-Cost Tablet Beyond Its Kid-Friendly Design
Color: Blue
I don’t have kids, so my interest in this wasn’t about cartoons or educational games. I wanted to see if a small, inexpensive tablet like this could double as a secondary control panel for my smart home setup. So far, it looks like it will serve that role just fine. From a hardware standpoint, it’s exactly what you’d expect for an entry-level device. The quad-core processor paired with 2GB RAM and 32GB storage isn’t going to win any speed contests, but performance is steady. Apps open without major lag, and it runs Android smoothly enough for lightweight use. For my purposes—running a custom AI-driven Vibe-Coded program that uses the camera to grab the color of the sky and recreate it with my living room lighting for sunset transitions, then shifting to night mode until bedtime—it feels more than capable as a proof-of-concept platform. I don’t need graphics muscle or heavy multitasking, just reliable execution of a few apps, and this handles that consistently. Setup was straightforward. Out of the box, it boots into a kid’s mode with parental dashboards and colorful profiles. I bypassed that since I don’t need restrictions, but it was simple to configure and drop into standard Android mode. With full Play Store access, loading smart home apps was seamless. WiFi is stable, and USB-C charging is a nice bonus for keeping cords universal and clutter-free. Durability is where this device over-delivers. The thick silicone case isn’t just for show—it makes the tablet feel like it could bounce off the floor without issue. The handles and chunky corners aren’t important to me aesthetically (this will probably live mounted near a window as an interactive touch panel), but they add reassurance that it won’t be fragile in day-to-day handling. The display is modest at 1024x600, but bright enough for quick glances and responsive to touch. Speed is what I’d call “predictably modest”—it’s not snappy like higher-end devices, but it doesn’t stall either. For issuing lighting commands, streaming small apps, or checking a status panel, it’s quick enough. Battery life is fine for portable use (several hours of active runtime), though I’ll mostly leave it plugged in while testing and building out my automation. The dual cameras are basic but functional if needed. Overall, while this is marketed as a children’s tablet, it doubles nicely as a budget Android device for simple automation, streaming, or secondary control tasks. For my use case as a dedicated smart home controller, it’s durable, functional, and consistent—exactly what I needed without being overkill. ... show more

  • Great toy Android tablet.
Color: Blue
This is not a serious tablet. I mean, I don't suppose anyone looking at the listing would think it WERE a serious tablet, but I wanted to get that out of the way right out of the gate. But as a toy tablet or a young child, it's perfect. Now that that is out of the way, here's my second preface: temper your expectations. It's a toy. I said that already, but I need to reemphasize that: it's a TOY. As such, do not expect it to last forever. And at just under $40.00, which is roughly what many toys these days cost, it's not going to give you the best user experience either. It comes with a pre-installed parent software which is okay, and it gives parents all the control over the child's content quite easily. It's not as intuitive as some of the more on-brand tablets, but it works. Your kids see what you want them to see, albeit with a bit more work on your part (not much, though). Now to the tablet. It's seemingly well-built for a classic, budget tablet: It has a nice-fitting silicone case it feels solid in the hand, and the screen, while not mind-blowing any anyone's standards, is pretty and passable. The biggest complaint I have about the build: it feels like it has a plastic screen, not glass screen. It is going to be scratched up like crazy in no time. The device is pretty fast for a low-RAM budget tablet. a toddler would have no issues with how it functions. In conclusion, It works for what you need it to do, and it works quite well. If you're looking for a budget toy for a kid, this should be a consideration. ... show more

  • good enough 'baby-shark delivery machine'
Color: Pink
like the title says only good for baby shark delivery machine, anything else you're expecting you're looking at wrong product and definitely wrong price point. Tablet comes the silicone cover, that's quite durable. I was able to load YT Kids and forget it, I was't going to expect any apps to run smoothly, it's sluggish but it does the work done, sound is.. well I can hear and understand what is being spoken. Battery life is fine, and it at least has a USB-C charger, I didn't use the included power brick, It is 5V2A, good enough give the price point of tablet. The user interface felt sluggish until I adjusted the zoom level on display setting, decreased the zoom one level and increased the text size one level, then it is fast enough to be usable. It runs the Go version of Android 10, if anyone is interested and has latest security update from October 5, 2020 and play store security patch from 2020-09-01, so, I didn't feel safe enough to log in to my account; but if you do not care, you can use your google account and play store, download the apps/games all you like. The included Yubabe app is also usable, it has fun and learning games as well as playlist of videos that are educational and you can see all of them for free without subscribing to anything. Display has very weird angle of view you'd have to be looking from a down to see the screen clearly, and the angle is not that wide so there is a specific angle where you'd see the screen clearly and darkish from other angles. given all the aspects this is not a very good tablet when you compare it to $100-$200 tablets, that not what I am doing here but just to have it blasting baby shark or wheels on the bus, it is a good enough tablet given the price. ... show more
