Spoke with KFI about this (where the winches are manufactured). Their winches are designed and engineered here in the U.S., but like most if not all others, are made in China. I will say this, though, I went through 4 (that's F-O-U-R) other brand winches and returned them due to varying quality or defect issues and finally ordered this KFI (A3000). I am totally satisfied with this winch in terms of quality, fit and finish, tightness, torque, specs, instructions and installation, etc., right down to the quality of the switches and mounting hardware. All was superior to those I returned, and I'm one of those ninnies that tend to overthink things and be a little too particular sometimes. Many, if not all their other products, are designed and manufactured in their Minnesota facility and I found them to be superior fit and finish as well. KFI's tech support is terrific. I spoke with (a MN based) techie who's specialty is off road products as one should expect, and once he even pinged the engineer in the next room to answer a question. That's great service. I will not hesitate to do business with KFI in the future, first and foremost.

Installed on 2016 Polaris Ranger 570 and works great. Only negative would be that it seems to wind a little slower than would be expected. Not overly noisy and seems to be strong. Have pulled several trees and stumps from the yard but have yet to pull myself or another UTV/ATV out of the muck. Love the large round wheel for the cable release as mine is mounted inside the body and would be difficult to locate a lever. I only use the corded remote but plan to mount the "handle bar" switch in a permanent location on my UTV.

Installed winch on a Polaris ATV. Great product and easy to install. One problem though, I broke the contact on the negative lead on the winch. TOTALLY MY FAULT. Overtightened. Spoke with KFI looking to purchase replacement part. They sent me a new part no charge. Wish I can remember the girl's name I spoke to. Very pleasant and helpful. Great customer service.

I've had mine for almost a year now and it's holding up very well. It's mounted on a Polaris 500 Sportsman and has no trouble pulling it out of some the deepest mud holes. The winch has been under water numerous times and continues to work.

Junk don't buy (edited) Called up the company apparently you're not supposed to stick synthetic rope in a winch made for metal cable they made it right I got my money back cuz I had the warranty through Amazon and they let me buy just the winch kfi did

KFI winches are not a good product and I have had lots of issues with mine. I have had six winches in my life and they all behaved the same way, they work and after a couple years of hard service wear out. I have a KFI winch and it has broken twice in six months. The first issue was the lock releasing and the ATV would start to roll back down the hill. If I held it in place I could at least get out of the area. Sent it in for repair and it worked a coupe times before released again. Then the motor started burning at the negative terminal. I called and they will send out a new end plate but this time I was stuck at the bottom of a hill and could not get out. I requested my money back but I doubt if it will happen. This is the most expensive winch I ever purchased it and I thought I would get a better product. I have had Wern and Superwinches, they both worked as good as this one and I got solid service out of them before they failed. In purchasing a winch I would recommend going with as much load capacity and you can afford and then buy the cheapest on the market. Wern if you can afford it but the Superwinch is adequate for most applications.

1st time it got a little bit wet the motor went out even doing their recomended options for drying it out...buy a waterproof winch may cost more but its worth it
