This saved me a ton of money over what the dealer wanted to charge, and they look exactly the same - except for the brand logo sticker on the dealers keys. They came with programming instructions that were very easy to follow. Only trouble was getting the keys cut. The first hardware store I went to didn't want anything to do with it. So I went to another. They charged me $5 to cut both keys. I guess they will get all my harware business now. UPDATE: I've had them for 3 months now. Still work great. As others have said, the case does tend to pop open if you drop them on a hard surface. It snaps back together no problem. The printing on the key I use everyday is almost all worn off. A little dissapointing, but it doesn't bother me much. I don't know that a full price dealer key would be any better (considering that I press the buttons at least 10 times a day). If I paid dealer price, I'd be much more upset about this.

I’m writing a late review because I finally got to the dealership to have my keys cut and wanted to make sure I could program them myself to write a fair review. After contacting the seller to get specific information for programming the fobs and getting them cut, the programming was a breeze and they work GREAT!! The seller was helpful and eager to assist us with the help we needed. After asking the dealership for a price to purchase programmed key fobs from them; I am ecstatic to have purchased this item!! It saved us hundreds of $$$. One thing I learned is you must have the original 2 keys to be able to program the new ones. My husband and I believe it’s for safety reasons. That way someone can’t take one key and have another one cut. This is extremely appreciated as well!! Great purchase, item & seller!

My original key fob broke on my keys, and all I had to do was use my key and add a battery to this fob, and go. It was so easy to program! It got to me really fast! The chip quality was the same as if I had bought one from a dealership. The feel of the fob was just like my original key fob. Once I paid my locksmith $75 to cut the key part of the fob to fit my car's ignition, I was on my way! It fit into my engine great!

I bought this key set because I was down to two keys for my Jeep. It takes two functioning keys to program a third or more for spares. If you only have one key you have to go to the dealership to get a second or third made and it is expensive, one new key alone can be over $100.00 and then they charge for the programing as well. That is pretty much legal theft. So as a preventative measure I bought these. They reprogramed fine and I now have two spare keys to go with my two original keys that I and my wife use. These work great. The reason for four stars and not five? They fall apart frequently. The halves are not as secure as the factory key housings which have a little screw that secures the plastic housing . These keys do not have the screw and will pop open by themselves and scatter the contents on the ground. That can be a problem if you can't find a critical part and are away from home. Consequently I have them taped closed. Not very attractive but it works. If they added a screw to them I would give them a fifth star.

Bought a second pair and they all work great, but the button contacts appear to need a little breaking in, after probably sitting on a shelf many months, so they need to be held down a couple second Not a deal breaker for me, but took some getting used to so i wouldn't unlock all doors accidentally. Just need to listen to the lock sound or watch the lights blink to know they worked. Seems to be getting better with time. Finally Nice to be able to leave the AC on and have the car locked, and have the hidakey, and have a spare set at this price. Programming was a little odd too taking what seemed like 2 tries on each of the 4 keys, but jeep actually programs the door remote at the same time it programs the chip to start the engine, saving real time doing the second job - you just must have 2 working keys that will start the engine - they don't have to work unlocking the doors, like one of mine did not, and unlike my Grand Prixb that required a working lock remote function, as i recall.

Update... After not even one year, three cracked apart in exactly the same place in the middle of the fob. I got by for a bit by gluing until one by one they absolutely disintegrated. Well 'they're cheaper' you say? Your Chrysler vehicle only has so many logical address slots for additional fobs to be added via this process. Any lost or broken keys still occupy any number of addresses. My Jeep's are now "full" so no matter what I buy, cheap or not, it's off to the dealership to have the assignments erased for an hour of labor. The process provided here quits working when the system reaches its' max and no a locksmith does not have the private manufacturer's PIN to erase them. I saved the circuit boards so I may just buy a couple more and throw these boards in the same new models, but those will break too. Incidentally, I have another aftermarket fob, purchased long before, that has a much more substantial case and a red (not green) higher quality circuit board but that vendor no longer sells on Amazon. So better aftermarket replacements do exist. Don't waste your valuable address assignments on these low quality fobs. *** I cannot say enough good things about this product. I was very skeptical and had already wasted money on a replacement shell (no transponder) that claimed to be compatible but wasn't even close. In my case, I have both original keys, one I keep as a spare. The other is cracked, beat up, and the buttons are totally worn. It has been exposed to water and just barely works so I finally decided to give this a try before it died entirely. This showed up, I took it to the Ace Hardware across the street. They actually cut it for free only advising me they would not be responsible if it didn't work (it must be cut before activating.) Then took it out to the car, followed the instructions. In five minutes, using both original keys, it worked! It starts the car, all four of the button functions work and the range is no different than the Chrysler/Jeep keys. The label on the back is just blank which I prefer because the original Jeep label on the factory key had worn blank in no time. For almost a month this has worked perfectly for my 2009 Jeep Liberty Limited. So if you have a 2008-2012 Jeep Liberty Limited, you're good. I would feel totally comfortable trying it on the previous model Liberty and Dodge Nitro's as well. If I buy another Chrysler/Jeep with this type of key fob, I'm going to order this immediately and use that key daily in order to preserve the originals since both are needed for programming.

I had no problem programming the key, but getting it cut correctly was a little bit of a hassle. Make sure you have the car with you so that you can test it right away. Find an old style hardware store (just not ACE, they wouldn't do it unless I bought their $60 key) and get the key cut on a manual cutter. It does not have near the range of an OEM key. I have to be right next to the vehicle for it to operate the lock. Sometimes I have to hit it a couple of times to get it to work. Be careful with the key. I dropped mine when pulling them out of my pocket (which I've done hundreds of times with my OEM keys) and the case came open. The two halves went opposite directions, the battery rolled under my car and the chip fell out. I put it all back together and it worked fine, but they should really try to make it snap together more securely like the OEM keys. I may put a drop of RTV sealant to make sure this doesn't happen again. That way I can still open it to replace the battery. UPDATE 11/28/16- Key was coming apart pretty regularly (Even when hanging in the ignition). I have now sealed the entire case except for the wide slot where you open it with Black RTV sealant. It appears to have sealed it well and I don't anticipate any more issues. Shouldn't have to do this if it was a better design. The OEM key has a small screw that holds the case together, but this one does not.

Update 12/22/21: The first key broke after about 3 months. I dropped it outside, the case broke open and I lost the little plastic sheet inside rendering it non-functional. No biggie. I had the second. Well, after a little over 2 years, the second key developed a crack and over time has weakened to the point that it falls apart in my hand when I turn the ignition if I'm not super careful. I guess I got my money's worth? So, now I'm getting a replacement set, but I'll be buying from a different vendor and hope the keys will last longer. Original Post: These fobs worked perfectly in my 2011 Liberty. I had 2 working keys (not remotes). Took one with me to Home Depot to get these cut. Took them home and programmed both with no issues. Have worked well and held up to daily use. No complaints.
