I have done lots of car repair and this was shockingly hard to install. Watch a couple videos before you purchase or attempt this. Some users can just replace the bezel and solve their problems so consider that first. I F’d up and cut the wire to get the old one out before I realized ewhat it would take to install this. To do it right you have to put the window up and down several times… remove window gaskets, interior trim, exterior trim, and break water seals. The. You have to get your hand into small places with sharp edges to rout the wire around window, motor, track, and latch and try to secure it. … crazy hard.     • Perfect Fit but there’s more
I’ve owned several F-350 trucks, all with the key pad entry, and have had the plastic top clip break on two of them. This unit has a metal top clip which should eliminate the problem in the future. But here’s the good news! If it is just the clip that breaks and your key pad still works, you don’t have to spend 3 hours trying to remove the inside door panel and the one clip that’s almost impossible to get to. Just remove the outside housing off of this new unit, remove the outside broken housing off the one in the door and swap out! 5 minute job!
