Bought this based on all of the positive reviews. One rain storm and about 2 inches of water got in. Box was shut during the rain. Not really sure how it got in. This is really easy to put together and it is sturdy but if you need this to be weatherproof it's not even remotely close to being that. I'd return it but I'm not gonna repackage a box this big. Initially I was pleased with ease of assembly. But as I stored 4 then 5 patio cushions, the sides bulged and the box wouldn’t stay closed. This photo was taken with just 4 cushions stored, and you can see the ends aren’t flush, meaning moisture and bugs can enter. I purchased because the price was right, but am very disappointed with overall quality, or lack of. I do not recommend this at all. ... show more

I recently purchased a deck box half the size by a different manufacturer. It was not easy to put together because the pieces were tight; eventually it did. Customer service very good. So I took one look at this thing and figured it might be the one. The almost corrugated effect of the lid would keep it from warping TOO much. The near-bathtub-like bottom would stop most creatures from sneaking their way in, and would keep water up to a couple of inches out. I am thrilled to report that I was 100% correct. The above benefits to design turn out to be true; the parts are all heavy-duty plastic - so no auto-lift mechanism to eventually fail; assembly was free of tools and more like Lego than anything else. I have mine facing south on the south wall of our house, it takes CONSTANT UNFORGIVING heat (I would almost say "doubled" because of the sunlight bouncing off of the wall it is next to) and has kept our chair cushions dry, and stayed very much the shape of a box with a well-fitting lid. I'd recommend this to anybody in a heartbeat - it fit my needs perfectly. ... show more

It's huge and was very easy to put together-no tools needed. Plenty of room for all pool accessories, chemicals and still room for some cushions. Works as an extra seat if needed as well. Will put an outdoor cushion on the top for comfort.

I want to love this and rate it a full 5 stars. I really do. But it leaks. The walls "click" down into the base, and the downward-facing tabs on the bottoms of the wall pieces create a leak path right into the bottom/inside. It was a poorly designed joint for leaks, although it made a VERY easy to assemble. The whole unit is fairly light for its size yet very sturdy, and went together in 5-10 minutes. The lid functions well and closes well enough to keep water out, but the water finds a way through the seam between walls and bottom. I will probably caulk/seal all of the joints to keep the water out, which I shouldn't have to do. But that $5 will be well spent. ... show more
