More often the not, my car tires would develop a slow leak rather than a catastrophic blow out. This gadget is so handy. I previously purchased a small compressor that ran on my cordless drill batteries. It was so pathetically slow, that it was only good for bicycle tires. I was afraid that this pump would be just another disappointment. But wow! ‘Difference of night and day! For example. Plug this into a car tire that is 5 pounds low on pressure. Hit the go button. This pump is really good for a wireless pump and goes pretty fast. The one issue I did have with it was right out of the package I noticed that it had some kind of rust on the hose joint but worked great pumped all 4 of my car tires to max with the limiter that turns off the pump when it reaches the psi you set for it. My son is attending college 10 hours away from home. It's a military college so they don't always get to come and go as they please. On a recent weekend when they were allowed to leave, my son and a friend drove 6 hours down I-95 to Daytona Florida in his friend's car. On the return trip, they had a blowout several miles from campus. Changing tires alongside a busy highway is dangerous and nerve-wracking. When they made it back to campus my son used the tire gauge that I sent along with him to check the rest of his friend's tires. Most were 10-15 pounds under the recommended pressure. Now he and his friends have gotten into the habit of checking their tires before any major trips. It seems that when their cars sit for extended periods without use that they actually lose air more quickly than if they were used daily. I got this compressor for them to share. It's small and light enough for my son to keep in the back of his car but is still capable enough to put the lost air back in their tires in only a few minutes. The built-in pressure gauge matches my son's other gauge to within 1/2 pound and is very consistent. I think that they've learned a valuable lesson about car maintenance and I know that I feel better with them on safer tires. ... show more
