This is a great device. I have used it numerous times in the 11 months I have had it and it works very well. It is very easy to set up and use. It inflates items very quickly and alway shuts off automatically at the pressure I set up. It is lightweight and stores easily in the case provided.

Excellent value, worked really well, really well built and with a nice case. It was well thought out. Two ways to operate it. There’s a rechargeable battery, which works the best. It’s faster with that. I could add 5psi to 10 tires with that, which would normally be enough. It also can use the car lighter— that way is slower, but you’ll never run out. I’m glad I got this. I bought this months ago and haven't used it until now. I followed all the instructions which are simple and straight forward. I had two tires reading about 27psi. They showed up on my Subaru dash as being low and they were. They needed to be at 35psi (front) and 33psi (rear). Took less than 3 minutes for each to reach the programed psi (36 fnt-34.5 rear, it's winter in Denver & cold). The battery is still almost showing full bars. It's hard to tell but it looks like one bar is dimmer. Regardless, the point is it's got a lot of charge left in it. Manual states that after 10 mins of continued running the unit needs to cool down. 40 degrees outside temp, and no noticeable heating of the unit while holding it. Second tire at about 1/2 way through noticed the unit warming up. Noticeable (fairly warm) but not "hot" at the point of reaching 34.5psi. So, I'm guessing that fully inflating one of my 225/60R-18's might push the unit to needing to really cool down, and this is with the outside temp again being about 40 degrees. So the major consideration with this product would be not burning up the unit. So factor in the run time as I've shown, & as the manual states. All & all I recommend. Good price. Nice case & accessories. Perfect for emergencies. Oh, and remember to check and charge all your "rechargeable" stored battery appliances at least every 6 months. ... show more

I never review anything, but this thing is great. A game changer compared to the little AirMoto I used to have - which died after a couple of years of light use. That little machine would take 10 minutes to add 5psi to one tire. This thing did all 4 of my tires - from 36-42psi - in about 6 minutes, most of which was spent moving from tire to tire.     • The AVID POWER inflator rocks!

I received this unit today and put it to the test. Previously I pumped my car tires with a regular bicycle pump, but the connector wouldn't always seat properly on the tire valve stems and the hand pumping wore me out. During a recent unusual cold snap the tire pressure on all my car tires, so I decided it was time to do the research and buy a battery-powered inflator. What sold me on the AVID was the battery power (20V), the adequate hose length, the decibel rating below 80 (at 65 db) and the fact that it also included a 12V alternative power supply. The unit arrived with the battery already fully charged. All four of my tires had dropped to 27 pounds of inflation, and needed to be inflated to 34 pounds. I used my phone to time how long it took on each tire and was pleasantly surprised that it took only about 1 min. 40 secs. for each tire. The unit stopped automatically as advertised when the tires reached 34 lbs., and a check with a manual pressure gauge found them to be bang on. The battery indicator showed it still had one bar of power left when I finished with all four tires. I am very pleased with this unit! The carrying case is great to have and fits in the storage compartment in the back of my car. I wasn't aware of powered tire inflators for home use until my son-in-law bought my daughter one last Christmas; hers is a very small unit with a short hose that causes it to dangle from her tire valve if the valve is at the top of the tire, it takes a lot longer for her to inflate her tire and its battery is only good for 1-2 tires before needing to be charged. The longer hose on my AVID inflator is great and was one of my criteria for purchase; the unit sat flat on my garage floor while my tires inflated, and didn't start rotating in place like I've seen on some videos of other units. I am so happy with this purchase I intend to purchase one for my granddaughter this Christmas. I would highly recommend! ... show more

    • Practice before needed. Get familiar with unit.

Works well. Not fast but it does work. If you tire is completely flat or been flat for a while I don't know if it would work. I use it regularly to check tires, and you can preset tire pressure so it shuts off when finished. You need practice putting it on valve stem squarely so you are not loosing more air. Don't wait till you have a flat to try it. I plug in to cigarette lighter, never used battery. Battery must be charged fully. Use an air Guage if you are testing tires, otherwise you will loose some air with the fitting. ... show more
