  • Works perfectly
Size: Medium Color: Red
Every place around here has started charging $1.50 for AIR. I paid for my air a couple of days ago. The pump turned on, I connected the inflation hose, the pump pumped, after several cycles, the pump dinged indicating that the desired amount of air was in the tire that was indicating it was low. The automated pump did not indicate how much pressure was in the tire and seemed to be preset to 32 lbs with no way to adjust. So, I assumed the tire had enough pressure. When I got back in the car the low tire pressure warning light was still on and the dash readout was still showing only 28 psi. I came home and checked the tire with a pressure gauge and sure enough, it only had 28 psi of pressure. Since I didn't want to keep paying for something I breathe for free, I opened my computer and jumped on the Amazon site and checked the features and ratings on portable tire inflator pumps. This unit had very high marks from a ton of users so I ordered it on Thursday and it arrived today (Saturday). Very fast shipping. I had already read other user's comments and directions on how to use the inflator but still read the quick reference instruction page that came with the pump. According to some users, if you don't follow the connection steps precisely you won't have much success. I started the car, plugged the power connector into the outlet, connected the hose to the tire and waited until it indicated the pressure that was actually in the tire. (The pressure gauge and the low-pressure indicator on my dash readout matched. Good to know the car tells the truth with the warning systems). I set the digital readout to the desired pressure and only then did I turn on the power switch on the inflator. I have used other portable inflators before and this unit seems to be faster at reaching the proper pressure. It increased by about 1/2 psi every 10 seconds or so. When it hit the preset pressure it automatically stopped pumping. The power plug and cord as well as the inflation hose all stored very neatly back in the slots. The inflator comes with a very nice storage bag. I put the inflator in the bag and zipped it closed and then easily stored it in the equipment compartment under the flooring in the back of my SUV. This is a very nice, small, accurate, and easy-to-use inflator as long as you do everything in the proper order. The best part is, I don't have to search around town to find a location that actually has a tire inflation pump and then pay $1.50 to use equipment that my not be working properly. The pump is a bit loud for something so small, but it is not like I am trying to take a nap while it is doing its job ... show more

  • Easy to use and accurate
Size: Medium Color: Red
I was skeptical buying this device because I saw a few reviews saying it didn't work after using it or saying that it stopped working while using it. The device worked perfectly. My tires on my cadillac were about 10 psi under what they were supposed to be because every gas stations air pump in my area either had an out of order sign or the attachment was missing.. so i gambled on this little air pump on Amazon. It's super small and compact which is nice because it doesn't take up a lot space for when you are storing it. Also makes it easily portable. The device is quick to get to the set pressure and also fast when it comes to filling the tires. And according to my cars tire pressure monitoring system, the device had an accurate reading of ny cars tire pressure. It was spot on. After reading the manual. I have a feeling the people who left bad reviews didn't read or didn't listen to the manual. After you fill a tire the manual states to wait a few minutes before moving on to the next tire to give the device a little time to cool down. It also says to store it in a cool dry place. A lot of the negative reviews people said they left it in their trunk.. storing anything electronic in your trunk can make a device stop working especially if you live in states with warmer weather. So words of wisdom just don't store it in your cars trunk. Also give it a small break between pumping air into your next tire. And if for whatever reason it does stop working. Most likely it's either your 12 volt outlet is old and worn out in your car, or chances are you over worked it and the fuse blew (which they do give you an extra fuse). So just follow the instructions! Device is great and worth the money. ... show more

  • Pretty good, almost as fast as the $129 dewalt inflator
Size: Medium Color: Blue
I bought one of these for my daughters who are in another state at College. They were both able to use it was success and one even re-inflated a totally flat tire to 33psi. I'm sure it took awhile, but it's speed is decent for its size and price. I recently bought another for my wife' car as its nice size and carry case is easy to put in the back of our SUV and barely take any room (fits in a side net thats not big). Just today I get the dewalt 20v inflator and its great also ... a little faster, a little quieter but at 129.95 this is a better buy for emergency or occasional use only. THe built in psi gauge is accurate within 1psi and I'd say the dewalt is within .1 to .3 psi . But either way, I can't say enough good things about this unit. THe backlit display is very night. I have also plugged it into a jump starter for my truck (Clore JNC660) that has 12v jack on it ... and this pump works great and doesn't dent its battery at all, even after multiple uses. While the cord could be a bit longer ideally, I was able to use it on a 2011 Honda Odyssey using the cigarette lighter ... but would have struggled on the back tires, but the van had a 12v jack in the back, which made it easier to reach the back tires. These units have a limit of 10' cord for the small gauge wire they use. If you want to go over 10' you probably need a large gauge wire and run it to the battery direct. ... show more

  • Unbelievable Customer support, great unit, A/C or lighter outlet and light
Size: Large Color: Red
Got this unit back in April 2023, worked great until about 6 months ago when the calibration of the psi went out. It was still fully functional just didn't read the psi correctly anymore. I was able to use a dial gauge to read the psi, but decided to reach out to Fortem. Even after 3 years(!) the customer service rep (through Amazon messaging) simply asked for my address and sent me a brand new unit, no fuss, no hassle, no return, proof of issue or anything required. For me, that's incredible, to know that they stand behind their product even so long after purchase. In these days of poor/non-existent customer service, it's nice to know some vendors are still standing with their product. ... show more

  • Worked Great!
Size: Medium Color: Red
I recently purchased this inflator to use on my new car. The vehicle has a low tire pressure warning light, and I wanted to have a way to quickly and easily maintain my tire pressure. The other day my warning light went on, and this past weekend I gout out my inflator and used it for the very first time. I will skip to the bottom line: It worked easily and quickly. I am glad that after much research I chose this particular inflator. I highly recommend it to anyone who needs something simple to use and reliable. More details: The instruction page was clear and got the job done, but there was a reference to screwing on the valve bit, when in fact there is a lever that once you press the valve comver on, you flip 90 degrees, and it locks it in place. No screwing needed. It took me longer to find what my tire pressure is supposed to be, and get the charging wire bundle out of the holder, and untie the bit that holds the long, long cord in a tight figure-8, and plug it in, than it did to use the thing! I read the page one time, and followed the instructions. Plug it in. Turn on the vehicle. Attach the air hose to the valve stem. Set the tire pressure. Turn it on. It is that simple. The unit was not nearly as noisy as I was expecting. It was not quiet, but it was not extremely loud either. I had measured all four tires ahead of time, and they came up as 30, 32, 32 and 32. The range for my tires took it up to 35. So I set the inflator to 34 when I attached it to each tire, and then turned it on. Took maybe 2 minutes for the first tire, and only one minute for the other three. The instructions say the unit should not be run continuously for more than 8 minutes. I probably ran my unit for a total of 5 minutes, in four quick sessions. I did not "cool the unit off" in between. I put the valve cover on, moved to the next tire, attached the air hose, set the air pressure to 34, and turned it on. Very happy with this unit. I like the storage case it comes with too. I have not used any of the extra nozzle attachments. If I had one complaint, it would be that when the unit is on, the built-in light comes on as well. Saves having a separate button to fiddle with to turn it on and off (and one less thing to break), but I kinda wished I could decide when to draw power. But I like having choices. I didn't knock a "star" off the review for that! Don't know how well this unit would inflate a giant inner tube for river rafting, or how long it would need to run to completely fill an empty tire. That 8-minutes max before it needs to cool down could be a limiting factor. But for roadside assistance uses, to quickly re-inflate an under-inflated tire, this was a breeze to use. ... show more

Been using it for about 8 months. Probably used it 30-40 times between 2 riding mowers 2 boat trailers jet ski trailer a mowing trailer and a 4weeler. LOVE IT! Set the psi you want and it cuts off automatically. No issues at all.

  • A Must Have For Every Vehicle!
Size: Medium Color: Red
I own 2 FORTEM portable tire inflators. I keep one in each vehicle in case I get a low tire pressure warning while driving. The unit is small and will easily fit under a seat. Driving with extremely low pressure can ruin a tire or a wheel and leave you stranded on the road. FORTEM makes it easy to check your tire pressure and adjust it. Plug it into your vehicle's 12V auxiliary power outlet, and enter the desired pressure via the up/down buttons on the front display. Then attach the hose to your tire's valve stem, and in a few minutes, the tire will be properly inflated. The pump automatically shuts off when the desired pressure is reached. Tire pressure should be checked and adjusted at least twice per year, especially when temperatures change drastically, such as in the fall and spring. Your tire pressure will decrease when it gets cold and increase when it gets warm. Keeping your tires properly inflated reduces tire wear, maximizes fuel economy, and increases safety. FORTEM is a small American company with a few employees. They seem to care about making good products and taking care of their customers. I found their customer service easy to reach by email and willing to help when I had a small problem with the first unit I purchased. I highly recommend FORTEM tire inflators. ... show more
