It cuts through wood and engraves designs with incredible sharpness. The built-in safety features like the magnetic cover are a big plus, giving peace of mind while using it.

    • Using it for months
It’s been pretty good. It does freak out sometimes and won’t burn right. We have only been able to do wood and tumblers, everything else that it says it does, doesn’t turn out using the specifications that the book has. It take some testing to get things just right.

This is a good machine that works full and has all the basic features you need for starting out in Engraving without being overwhelming. It assembled easily and quickly enough and has a simple height focus which is nice as least for me as a beginner.

    • Buggy, but good support
Fairly easy to assemble. Components seem high quality. However, the cuts are uneven and non-reproducible. I bought this to engrave a very specific position on a workpiece, but even though I've physically attached the cutter to a table with grid so it can't move, the cutting head shifts a little each time, so each cut is a couple mm off, resulting in a failed and messy cut. There's also some issue with the firmware that makes the homing button in LightBurn not work. How they didn't test this before shipping hundreds of products, I don't know. Being able to return the cutting head to a home position sounds like both an important and simple feature. However, when I press the home button, it gives me an "alarm 8" error, but only half the time. Once, I tried manually moving the head to the home position, and then pressing home, and the motors started grinding the belts away. Checked the limit switches and they worked fine. LightBurn even reports their activation. But the firmware on the cutter wasn't respecting them... The plus is the company's support is responsive and honestly tries to help. ... show more

The Kentoktool is fun and easy to use. I had to get my computer genius friend to set it up for me, but once I learned how to use it, I have had fun fun fun! I am using it to personalize coasters for an upcoming family reunion. I would have found it helpful to have a working phone number prior to purchase though. Also a full top-down picture would help to make assembling easier but the directions with pictures worked out okay. I was expecting a light to point to the center but unless I am doing something wrong, centering is mostly guess work. Other than those minor inconsistencies, what a fun toy for grownups! ... show more
