It's a handsome, tasteful lamp, head and shoulders above typical Torchiere lamps, you'd buy at any big box store and it's reflected in the price; to a degree. It is not over priced for it's level of quality; it has a really nice 3-way switch which is not a given with Torchiere's in this price range (and above) and is a sticking point with me. It's components are sturdy, easy to assemble and the assembled lamp itself is sturdy as well. The glass has a warm amber glow, so it's more of a mood, decor type lamp. My only criticism is that the glass is thinner than I would like it to be. Somewhat fearful of it's fragility. Don't knock it over, I guess, lol. Otherwise 5 stars every day. ... show more

It arrived undamaged. As others noted, the packing material is not dense enough and there were crumbles to deal with. I opened it from the side of the box so not too much trouble. The lamp assembled well and has a heavy base. The three way switch is working fine. I have a 100 watt 3-way LED in the lamp 2700K I really wanted a frosted white lamp glass and could not tell from the picture that it was so amber. So, i searched the web and found a replacement frosted, white, lamp glass. It added over $80.00 to the lamp but for my home it is worth it as I had a lot of difficulty finding a lamp with dark brown stem and frosted glass. Hated the original lamp glass. See Pictures. The replacement glass was ordered from Lampglass.nu and is model 9950. One other thing, the original shade has stickers on the inside of the shade that are almost impossible to remove and show through - dumb! If this lamp had a nicer shade I would have given it four stars. ... show more

We had a very bad experience with this company. We originally bought 2 lamps. Well the 1st came and not only was the styrofoam in the box in a million pieces the connection piece that holds down the shade was stripped and broken. So we sent for a replacement while the 2nd was on its way. A few days later the 2nd lamp had arrived, the piece wasn't broken but the whole lamp was very noticeably crooked and wouldn't stand straight no matter how hard we tried. So again we sent for yet another replacement. The 1st replacement had arrived and was so defected and abnormally odd we were shaking our heads at this point........... Then to top it off the 2nd replacement got lost in the mail. It was an utter disaster and rest assured we are extremely unhappy with our experience. I must say though in all of this nonsense and disappointment the Amazon customer service agents were on point and very concerned. If I was rating their performance they would definitely earn a five star. As for the lamps..... I would give them a 0 if I could. Be very careful ordering these lamps. ... show more

    • Messy packaging
The product was encased in polystyrene, which was packed so tight in the box that I had to cut the outer box in order to get the polystyrene packaging out. The polystyrene kept crumbling apart and I had polystyrene pieces all over the house. After all that, I found that the base of the lamp was broken. I had to send it back, and ended up getting a cheaper one at a store with no problems. Also, the lamp shade was more yellow than the one pictured. ... show more

First the twist knob came off. The threads were stripped. Second, after super gluing the knob back on the witch shorted out. This is a very nice looking lamp, but why is the switch so cheap. Unfortunately I got rid of the box containing the lamp, so I have little way of returning it. I have tried to contact the lamps company, but have not received an answer.I am beginning to believe it's better to go to a brick and motor store even if it's more expensive. ... show more

we specifically ordered this model because it said it had a three way switch which it did not. we even ordered a second one thinking it was just defective but that did not work with a 3-way bulb either. disappointed but we kept it because it looks good.
